We had the first superpower in the world 2000 years before oil was discovered. We developed our country without oil. You guys on the other hand have managed to become almost a failed state, without any prospect of development or enlightenment. You guys still walk around like if it is 5000 B.c.

So walking around with your culture is wrong, I assume that's what you are saying here?

No, I suppose aliens have been living in modern day Pakistan since millennia, then..

These people seem to think we came out of nowhere.

BS. They are an excellent representation of Pakistan. Pakistan is even doing worse than your diaspora in the UK. You guys are famous for being extremists in Europe, and even in South Asia. Whenever I met tourists who visit both Pakistan and Iran they are shocked by the enormous difference in development between both countries. Its like heaven and earth.

Your economy sucks.
Your scientific output sucks.
You guys can't even establish security in your country.
Your infrastructure sucks.

I can go on forever.

You are pathetic @Surenas. Yes, we have our problems in Pakistan. Yes, we are suffering. Yes, we have bad governance. But for you to so bluntly state what you did about a country is worse than pathetic, it shows me how miserable and jealous of a person you are.

I don't want to go bash your country now, knowing that you have lived in Pakistan for some of your lifetime. But let me tell you, your country is what it is today mainly because of mass oil reserves. Your economy complexity is going down, while ours is going up. I remember a story back from a while ago from an Irish news station which was interviewing two Irish-Iranian Bahai couples who fled the country decades ago and escaped into Pakistan. They both met each other for the first time in Pakistan's Balcohistan province, but only with a glance. They later met each other again through the internet, where one was living in Canada and the other in Ireland. They were astonished to see how much freedom there was in Pakistan compared to Iran, I remember the women saying ''There was freedom in Pakistan''.

You see, there's huge differences between our countries. There are huge differences between any country. Ups and down occur in every country, but a person from another country has no damn right to put forth his opinion about another country, especially a pathetic one as yours.

Your pride is worthless when you guys have been living off US aid for years.

No country can live off such small amount, but yes that AIDS will also be gone on may 11

Hardly, that aid has been redirected to King Zardari and Co. The common man gets very, very little benefit, if any at all, from that. Pakistan is more than capable of surviving without it (the same can't be said about our puppet gov though)

It's nothing to be ashamed of but it shows your economy is relatively basic and oil-centric. You don't have a high quality education system, then why would many of you Iranians leave Iran for Europe and US many leave for better education. If you have such high quality education is any Iranian University even listed in top 100 or 200 (by a reputable source)? As for large scientific output, that is good you are able to fund your scientific endeavors with oil money, yet you are lacking in technology, no modern aviation to speak of, you had to photoshop a phony bs stealth aircraft replica to get people to believe.

They leave Iran for political reasons. Here, our national higher education system:

Be proud for having the worst scientific output in that list.

Apparently @Surenas got mad at me for saying Iran & Saudi would be nothing without oil

You can't live off of US aid you idiot, didn't they teach you math in Iran? US aid amounts to a few billion dollars in the course of 10 years or so, a country the size of Pakistan wasn't living off of the aid, the money was to aid military campaigns and to bolster army spending.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that while living in the US.

What kind of thread is this? lol...

I think Islamic World had produced enough super-powers from 7th to 18th century (Ummayad Empire, Abbasid Empire, Mughal Empire, Ottoman Empire) along with other strongest regional empires (Timurid Empire in Persia/Pakistan/India for example) etc...

Islamic World (if you insist on taking it as "one" civilization) enjoys the bestest success ratio in all human history..It remained on top for 71.3% of its entire history (1100+ years out of 1400 years)....Now, let us rest and develop economically, enjoy, and figure out our social problems...

Muslims should focus on spreading the message of Islam globally...

Here's is the visual representation of global Islam today...

Screenshot_1.png

Mashallah, when it comes to first 1400 years of a religion, Islam has outclassed all other religions combined in global presence, number of followers, geographical spread, and historical Influence!!!... No religion in human history has proved as successful/influential as Islam has...

But you see, the "Americas" are still pretty much 'untouched'...Only 5-10 million Muslims in whole Americas..This is shameful!...Muslims must focus on spreading the message of Islam in Americas, China, and Europe etc...

Islam would love a 'neutral world' now and Mashallah, we ARE going towards a "neutral" world..While U.S fights with Islamic Insurgents..China closes the gap and global economic pendulum is swinging towards the West..

So status quo is perfect for Islam ..but only Shia-Sunni conflict needs to be resolved and Outside intervention in Muslim nations must be stopped...

Even with higher scientific output you haven't won a single Nobel Prize in Physics or any scientific field even before the sanctions or during the Shah's time when both American and UK rested Iran on their lap.

India.... It will be Muslim majority then :P (J/K)

Why were the best scientists during the Islamic golden age Persian? Why had we the first superpower in the world? How come Pakistani culture has enormous Persian elements in it? Why is our diaspora high educated, wealthy and secular? How come many Iranians are quite tolerant. How come we have the highest scientific output in the world.

Once you've answered these questions, you will know why Iran has every potential to become a (regional) superpower.

Islamic influence is long gone now. Back them Islam used to control entire world trade which was silk road. Now nobody uses silk road.
China trading with Europe was main reason so many Islamic empires became powerful.
Even if all Islamic countries unite, they'd only be superpower for few years as oil runs out.

Now is the age of nationalism. Keep your culture, but take more pride in your nation. Thanks.

Nobel prize is worthless as an indication. Our scientific output has greatly developed our industry (be it military, automobile, aviation, medicine, energy, etc), and has developed our society greatly too.

I agree that Persian used to be center of the world, but that day went when Columbus reached America.
Then, Europeans didn't have to go through silk road, and massive taxes to trade with china. All Empires around the middle east weakened & ended.
