US Approves Possible Sale Of F-16 Equipment To Pakistan: Pentagon

No one knows how old a mig 21 is and if you knew anything you would know how upgraded the mig was and why would a junk be serving as a front line fighter based in Kashmir. Plus our f7s are similar.

May I ask how old u are?
An airforce analyst once said a Mig-21 can shoot down a F-22 if the F-22 just happened to be right in front of the Mig. That doesn't mean the Mig-21 is a superior fighter. Nevertheless, swiping at F16 is not the key of why Pak's F16s are for display pretty much. Pakistan knows it's not allowed to engage IAF and that's why PAF tried to hide the fact it was an F16 shooting down the IAF Mig. Remember all the dancing theatrics, announcement, and denials post shooting-down? Yea, that's Pak fearing America's sanctions for using F16 against IAF.

India is a very important ally for US to contain/counter China. With India's advance in GDP, the importance will only rise and there's nothing Pakistan can do. Do you think US will allow Pak using American-made weapons to harm India? Then what the hell are Pak's F16s for? Think... US wouldn't mind Pak using its F16s to attack China or Iran. But that's out of the question, isn't it? For displaying and feeling the Pak pride? Yes.. that's pretty much it.

The 500 aim120C5 weren’t meant for terrorists.
They’ve already shot down 2 IAF aircraft
Post shooting, Pak had to use dance theatrics and lies to hide the facts and very much show its fear of the American sanctions. Pathetic. You bought a very expensive weapon and that weapon is limited to shooting birds and not self defending. Do you think Pakistan is a super wealthy nation that could afford such luxury? Mind you, these money were collected from many poor Pakistan people. Only the elite Pakistanis feel money well spent for buying something so they can feel proud of owning and noting more.

BTW, do you know how many times Pak had to bow down and made concessions to America for using the F16 it bought to defend itself? I don't know.. Just the thought of it made me sick.

Hi,

Awam does not need that---.

If it needed that---by now they would have created a revolution in the country---.

Awaam did came out but our security forces unleashed hell on them in defence of corrupt people in power

You want people to pick weapons in reply

  • State Dept notifies Congress about Pakistan's F-16 programme.
  • Ned Price says Pakistan important counterterrorism partner.
  • India "protested" over proposed sale of F-16 parts to Pakistan.
WASHINGTON: The Biden administration has ignored the “strong objections” raised by India over the proposed foreign military sale of $450 million to Pakistan to sustain the Pakistan Air Force’s F-16 programme and notified Congress in this regard.
Last week, the US Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) delivered the required certification of this possible sale, angering India who raised the matter during meetings with US official Donald Lu in New Delhi, according to a report by The Hindu.
The publication stated that the Indian Ministry of External Affairs “protested” against the sale of spares of the jet to Pakistan despite the DSCA’s clarification that “the proposed sale does not include any new capabilities, weapons, or munitions” and it “will not alter the basic military balance in the region”.
While responding to a question in this regard, US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price said, “well, we did recently notify Congress of a proposed foreign military sale valued at $450 million for maintenance and sustainment services for the Pakistani Air Force’s F-16 programme.”
The US official stressed that Pakistan is an important partner in a number of regards and an important counterterrorism partner.
“And as part of our longstanding policy, we provide life cycle maintenance and sustainment packages for US-origin platforms,” he said.
“Pakistan’s F-16 programme, it's an important part of the broader US-Pakistan bilateral relationship, and this proposed sale will sustain Pakistan’s capability to meet current and future counterterrorism threats by maintaining the F-16 fleet. This is a fleet that allows Pakistan to support counterterrorism operations, and we expect Pakistan will take sustained action against all terrorist groups.”

Flood devastation

When asked to comment on the devastation caused by the floods, Price said, “we are deeply saddened by the devastation and by the loss of life throughout Pakistan that these historic floods have caused. We stand with the people of Pakistan at this difficult time”.
He said that as of September 12, a total of nine US Central Command flights delivered more than half of the 630 metric tons of relief supplies from USAID’s Dubai warehouse for the response to these massive floods.
“In total, CENTCOM will airlift more than 41,000 kitchen sets, 1,500 rolls of plastic sheeting, tens of thousands of plastic tarps, 8,700 shelter fixing kits — all in support of USAID’s flood relief.”
In this fiscal year alone, we’ve provided more than $53 million in humanitarian assistance, including urgently needed support for food, nutrition, multipurpose cash, safe drinking water, nutrition, sanitation and hygiene, as well as shelter assistance. We’re going to continue to work very closely with our Pakistani partners to continue to assess the damage that has been wrought by these floods, and we’ll continue to provide assistance to our partners in this time of need.”

‘Concerned by significant restrictions on media’

Price, in response to a question regarding media restriction in the country, said that the US continues to be concerned by significant restrictions on media outlets and civil society in Pakistan and raises its concerns about press freedom to all stakeholders around the world, including Pakistan.
“We’re concerned that media and content restrictions, as well as a lack of accountability for attacks against journalists, undermine the exercise of freedom of expression, peaceful assembly and association. A free press and informed citizenry we believe are key to democratic societies around the world, key to our democratic future. That applies equally to Pakistan as it does to other countries around the world.”

Only a fool will believe this 'counterterrorism' nonsense. How is an advanced fighter aircraft helpful for counter terrorism? US has even officially declared Pakistan a sponsor of terrorism? All lies and manipulations. Real purpose is different.

Real purpose is to help Pakistan in order to maintain its strategic balance with India. Another purpose is to not let Pakistan slip into hands of Russians and Chinese for its economic or military requirements completely. Had our policymakers or stakeholders being truly committed to the national cause or betterment, we could have been in almost same position like India which is enjoying access to the best of Russian, American, French, German military equipment along with 67 billion USD trade volume with China.

On topic, F-16 is core face of Pakistan's military doctrine. Its presence ensures our military reliance is not on single source. The development of Thunders and induction of Dragons have put Pakistan into a lot better position to acquire Uncle Sam's equipment. That's my humble opinion.

Really do u think India has ability to stop United States what its want to sell or do anything ? When we show eyes to US then they put hold on everything and Indian media celebrate as their diplomacy victory.

Sometimes it's a waste of time talking to people who only listen to their own voice

Because you don't have a voice.. all you have are the bones Americans throw at you and the retirement homes and golf club memberships Americans have promised you.
Didn't Pakistan use dance theatrics and lies to cover the fact that it was an F16 that shot down a Mig-21? Why do you think Pak had to do that? Hello... ? Why did US demand an explanation from Pakistan why an F16 was used 'inappropriately' ('without American approval' and 'against the terms on which F16s were sold to Pakistan').

If you had a brain and love for Pakistan, then you have a voice. It's sad to see you boasting the high-quality American leash on your neck held on by the Americans. YET, you're paying the Americans to wash, wax, shine so you could look good to your poor compatriots.

well, everyone has his own definition of terrorists. wish we could also dare define ours.
Not true. Terrorism is a well-defined term and it's who the terrorists are that each nation sets its own defining guidelines. What Paks' F16s are is for display only and to boost some Paks' pathetic pride.

Russian equipment itself cannot match the quality of the US equipment.

Is that why Bajwa sold Pakistan to the Americans for F-16s?

The US state department spokesperson on Tuesday said that the US’ proposed $450-million sale for Pakistan to refurbish its F-16 fighters fleet would sustain the country’s capability to meet current and future counterterrorism threats.
During a weekly press briefing, state department's spokesperson Ned Price said: “This is a fleet that allows Pakistan to support counterterrorism operations, and we expect Pakistan will take sustained action against all terrorist groups.”

LOL the Americans are providing support for F-16s so that Pakistan bombs it's own people and country. What a great deal for Pakistan.

Haha, fvck that.

China can give J-10Cs instead.

Do you think we are idiots?

F-16’s are still better then majority of IAF fleet. Only 4.5 gen aircraft IAF has rn is Rafale. Any new purchase will take years or in Indias case at least a decade. Any upgrades will take years.
As long as india is flying mirage 2000, mig 21, Su 30 mki, mig 29 and jaguar, F-16’s will have a role in PAF.

You guys are talking about retiring F-16’s or saying we have no use for them while we’re desperately tryna mount bvr’s on mirages and still flying F-7’s.

F-16’s are here to stay and will have an important role in Pakistan’s air defence for a long time.

Do you have enough money to replace all F-16’s with J-10CE while needing replacements for legacy mirage’s and F-7?
We’re tryna strap on bvrs on legacy mirages because of our financial situation yet people here want F-16’s to be replaced. LOL!

Looks like they failed on 27 Feb
We can make special agreements with China to give us more J-10Cs.

We can repay back their loans after 20-year or 25-year targets.

We have enough shit of 220 million Pakistani people to want to buy US shit. US equipment on the other hand, especially with CSF type funding, and consequent benefits 😇😉 will always be viewed favourably. Whether it comes or not is another story.
A
I am completely against buying any more American equipment.

Buy Chinese equipment instead.

Is that why Bajwa sold Pakistan to the Americans for F-16s?

More J-10Cs should be ordered for Pakistan.
