After acquiring the Chinese 3D TWA radar system, the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces are seeking to acquire HQ-17AE air defense systems, according to press sources.

China had announced that the HQ-17AE troop-associated field air defense missile system, dubbed "Low-altitude Aircraft Hunter", is available for export.

Designed for export, the HQ-17AE was developed by the Second Academy of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC), and it has a series of high performance standards and is integrated with many advanced technologies.

Citing CASIC, state-owned Global Times reported that the system is capable of intercepting high-performance targets and resisting intense attack, while integrating all functions into a single wheeled vehicle for off-road mobility.

The HQ-17AE uses advanced technologies including an all solid-state phased array radar, vertical launch missile system, fast-rotating direct force system and rotatable tail wings, giving the air defense missile system fast reaction time and adaptability to complex electromagnetic environments in The battlefield, as the vehicle can launch missiles while moving, and can communicate with other vehicles through the Internet during combat.

The system can intercept not only fixed-wing aircraft, armed helicopters, drones, tactical air-to-surface missiles, anti-radiation air-to-surface missiles and subsonic cruise missiles, but also more challenging targets such as stealth aircraft, supersonic cruise missiles and missiles.

The vehicle can run at a maximum speed of 90 km per hour, and at a speed of 25 km per hour when engaged in combat, according to a China Central Television (CCTV) report.

Each HQ-17AE vehicle can carry eight missiles, and is able to direct four missiles at attacking four targets simultaneously, as it has the superior ability to intercept multiple targets.

we are making some good progress in the gulf and north africa countries.

Saudi Arabia and UAE are trying to diversify their arms suppliers. Smart move, given the political changes in the West and their weather-like mood. Diversifying with China, Russia, India, Brazil, South Korea, and Turkey makes sense.

This weapon system is definitely not about diversify but real need. Who can make a mobile SAM system that can be fired on the move? Only Russia and China.

HQ-17 are extremely useful when escort moving columns of tank and armour against low flying enemy attacking aircraft and gunship.

Really like how you strategically placed India between Russia and Brazil even though they don't make anything worthwhile and import literally everything from outside

Fire on the move short to medium range missiles include Pantsir S1, Hq-17, HQ-7, Tor, and Crotale.

HQ-17 is developed from Tor missile system and HQ-17A has diverged a lot with the command, radar, control units and even missile with some TVC changes. Actually HQ-17 itself already started diverging from imported Tor.

HQ-7 is developed from Crotale system and same thing there, modernized and developed further. AESA addition, new command modules and communication, newer vehicles and subsystems for example engine.

Pantsir is longer ranged than all those. HQ-17A and HQ-7A far more modern than the lates Tor and Crotale versions. Constant upgrading to get it better and better but same system and of course developed from those but honestly the newest version have improved upon everything by quite a bit.

Pantsir is supposed to be best on paper. Why Saudi don't buy Pantsir is a question but it's been used a lot and captured by many groups including USA for study and so maybe they believe the classified details are revealed to many groups so Saudi has not bought that.

launch while quickly moving
Each HQ-17A/AE launch vehicle carries one PESA search radar and one AESA guidance radar. Notably, the location of the radars is different for the tracked variant and wheeled one. For the tracked variant, the search radar is located at the front and guidance radar at the rear while for the wheeled variant, the search radar is located at the rear and guidance radar at the front.

So Turkey gets penalized for buying Russian Air Defense System, while India does not. Would America threaten it's allies if they bought Chinese Air Defense Systems?

Don’t forget China’s new FK-2000.

Ah yes of course. The Pantsir concept equivalent. PLA covers all bases and every single mobile SAM type concept, tracked and wheeled has Chinese equivalent. This is two stage missile type with 30mm guns integrated. Same concept as Pantsir. Very different radars and electronics. Combined it with two smaller gattling guns.

I don't think PLA uses FK-2000?

I think PLA is more interested in PL-12 two stage SAM missile system DK-10, which I think is much nicer since it is much longer range than FK-2000 but it cannot be fired on the move.

DK-10 system is 25km vertical altitude range and 50km slant range. FK-2000 is 12km vertical range and 25km slant range. Different class.

FK-2000 may have more range than Tor and HQ-17A and the Crotale and HQ-7A. It is a lot larger though than those systems and much slower.

PLA's own use is HQ-7A, HQ-17A, HQ-16A/B, HQ-22, HQ-9A/B, HQ-26, HQ-19, HQ-29/SC-19 in order of AD range. KS-1A is retired, DK-10 and FK-2000 are not purchased by PLA as far as I know.

You might need to update your research well. We don't sell too much but it's a start. Unless Google is banned in your area, feel free to use it rather than try to flamebait others. Such an attitude is stale and immature in 2022.

An ADS with 35mm~76mm AHEAD AA-GUN and TOR/HQ-17 is Ideal solution to deal with UAV threat.especially AHEAD AA-GUN will defeat every UAV that is below 3000m heigh efficiently.

If i had to sacriface anyone i would have handed him over the border and you can call some of your bloodthirst friends they will come handy in this situation.. Some ppl need to feel and learn what it feels like to die at the hands of an extremist in order to understand things... It's an experience
