Watch: Journalist KAMRAN KHAN literally BEGGED PM Khan on Karachi

I have said this time and again, for as long as PPP rules Sind and Karachi is considered a pawn by them, Karachiites have no chance.

PPP will never change. Their sole concern for Karachi is on account of it being a cash cow. All those who have been cursing the MQM for not developing Karachi are getting a first hand view, now that PTI has won in Karachi, of what it is like to deal with the PPP that wins from the interior and let's Karachi rot by starving its local administration of funds and empowerment.

18th Amendment is essentially the proverbial nail in the coffin of Karachi. The Center is powerless. Bilawal and his corrupt father call the shots. For them giving up control of Karachi to someone else, who would diligently work to improve the city, is a losing proposition. They do not have the mandate to win in the city yet want to control it as it is Pakistan's economic jugular. 18th amendment is how they have weaponized this game.

The CM of Sind deserves jootay on his face for lying and holding back. The problem for the center is that if they push too hard, immediately the Sindhudesh card will get pulled out by those who run PPP.
Sir, dont put all blame to PPP. Pmln were also part of the agreement and part of 18th amendment. Pindi and Islamabad are afraid of Sindhudesh but when they were doing operation in Karachi, Fata and Balochistan they were very brave. It is called double standards. Not a good logic. It means military beaucracy and all are afraid of sindhudesh and India?

What I have realized.... that people of Karachi think PPP comes in power due to people living in interior sindh. And PPP behaves like it has conquered urban Sindh. PPP treats Urban sindh like it treats rural sindh.

People who haven't travelled to interior don't have an idea what the feudals do to poor farmers.. from stopping their water to kidnappings to even murdering opponents.. Recent killing of a Sindhi speaking journalist is a very good example of this.

But a common Karachiitte doesn't understand this. I know this because I have some connections in interior.

and why is military allowing this apparent terrorism?, why can't they cleanse the province and take back Sindh from the yoke of traitors rulers.

18th amendment only becomes a problem when it is exploited. It is being exploited in Karachi by the PPP, not PML or any other party and as s result, the PPP deserves all the scorn and ill-wishes they can get.
I am not suggesting that we should discount PPP, however they should have some decency and consideration for the masses of Karachi living in a nightmare ghetto.

The fact of the matter is the feudal lords that run PPP don't care. They know they can never win Karachi. Yet the 18th amendment gives them all the power to control the misery in Karachi at the turn of a tap (tooti). When very rightfully fingers are pointed at them, these corrupt rascals say "look, Karachi has its own mayor etc. etc." Yet the mayor of Karachi is broke and completely powerless.

As a Karachiite, I am personally sick and tired of the games played by the PPP in Karachi. For those who have watched the city since the 70s, as I have, the root cause of Karachi's development problem was and has been the PPP and similarly in the 90's, the root cause of the lawlessness related issues was the MQM, PPP and ANP. The latter issue has been sorted out, what about the former?

You really think other ethnicities survive in Karachi especially Punjabis coz of the hospitality factor? Nay!!! It's due to the muscle power. Otherwise many punjabi migrants have lost their businesses at the hands of the mawalis.

This discussion is way OFF TOPIC...

Punjabis were hurt in INTERIOR Sindh.

Karachi still haven't touch or hurt Punajbis...And why would we?

Remain on topic....DEVELOPMENT for Karachi

I don't understand the Sindhudesh card, if blood shed is the only way to the prosperity of Karachi then do it better do it now before the people of Karachi starts rising themselves for their rights and that bloodshed will be far bloodier than this controlled one.

Utter desperation on this thread. People are asking of Khan to do in 5 years what they haven't asked of previous governments in decades; and here-in lies the problem. If you think he'll bypass the system to score brownie points, you're in for a rude awakening.

When there is a will - there is a way.

Time to WORK - 3 years are left ONLY

But Pakistan's economic problems are also the worst that the country has ever experienced. Karachi has to be allowed to function at scale and full capacity. You cannot have the economic powerhouse of the country shutting down each time there is monsoon rain and nobody picks up the phone to solve these problems.

I have experienced life in Karachi and honestly, what is going on now is the worst that I have seen (and I have been associated with that place since the 70s).

You are missing the role of establishment. She can swiftly insert giant rod in PPPs *** and yet is reluctant to do so.

So, PPP will be allowed to plunder Sindh for damn consecutive years just because they have Sidhudesh card. Well, that's a bad precedent you're setting then.

Just because Karachiites are patriotic and doesn't raise voice against Pakistan so that means they'll be taken for granted and will be left on mercy of thugs and criminals...

Bad news is - to avoid Sidhudesh card, establishment is creating Muhajir card on its own. Already Indian RAW penetration is there in Karachi.

Establishment can arm twist governments at any time she wants. We have seen it. PPP can be tackled but there is, it seems, a lot of "Kachra" around GHQ as well.

Rot lies in Pindi. PPP has been fed and made too powerful. The snake must die just like MQM went in air.

Counter weight of PPP should be launched in Interior Sindh.

The establishment had the balls to take out MQM, but not when it come to the PPP, I call that BS.

I get the point you are making but I don't like to use the term "establishment" because it has a negative connotation. If you mean the military here, there is an inherent interest in the military to see Karachi function at its full potential. The issue is that constitutionally and politically in Sind, PPP is the force de-jure. Unless the 18th amendment is changed, or the center does something extra-constitutional, the PPP can continue to choke Karachi shamelessly for their own petty gains.

The option that makes the most sense to me is to go through a devolution exercise and grant Karachi a status of a province. After all there was no ilhaam to the Quaid that Pakistan is and must remain comprised of 4 provinces only.

Sind will get its due share of Karachi's revenues as will other provinces..something like this has to be sold to the thuggery that runs the PPP right now. They may not realize it but with MQM decimated, PTI at the center, PPP is getting all the scorn as they run the province. However, in Pakistan, we have the most thick-skinned bastards getting into politics. As such even the mounting heap of scorn won't bring any sharam to the PPP walay.

As such the misery will continue. Imran Khan will keep on talking the talk, PPP will keep on milking the Karachi cow and Karachiites will keep on living their wretched lives in one of south Asia's largest open air ghettos with a GDP of almost $150B!

I agreed with you mostly. I dont like the politics between sindhis and karachiites. I dont even like to criticize my punjabi brothers. But if you look at Pakistan, you can find how are ruling elite is serious about Karachi and then we have Islamabad and Lahore. The difference is there. You cannot shift all blame to PPP and Sindh in the case of Karachi. When center and military decided to start operation in karachi, fata and balochistan, did they asked any approval or anything. They just decided and did that. So why using rhetrics against development in Karachi. Pmln claimed that they are the one who cleaned karachi and if they were right then where was the 18th amendment then.

Operations in sindh in 90s was the need of the hour otherwise altaf or anp thugs wud have slaughtered many. Similarly the rangers were necessary and the way sindh government or ppp dragged their feet on every extension notification is a treacheroury or atleast mockery as well.
Secondly,
Pmln didn't clean the city, bahria town did. Politically, Pmln was not hostage to ppp as pti was non existent and ANP and MMA was there instead.
Thirdly,
U talk of lahore.. then please explain when was center or rangers required by the ppl or the situation there.. for the sake of development or security respectively.
Fourthly,
Pmln and ppp are playing victim games nowadays and blaming NAB when almost all the cases against them were started and which are under trial are pre-pti rule.
Lastly..
Ppp rule has destroyed every city, town and village. Be it system, office, department or health wise. You can say tht the center didn't cooperate at some places, you can say that the center didn't provide technical help or support but even if they started or concentrated on sewarage or water or education or roads or any field.. Any project or area at all.. Even then they had over 20 years to execute it and perfect it.
They have done nothing for sindh except loot the ppl, strengthen hands of wadeiras, induct their loyal people from all over sindh in police, education, government offices, Port and where not. These people all loot and leech people as their right and that too collectively.
I can narrate examples which are mind boggling. Private Investment schemes where ppp thugs did not let projects start or made them impossible to function and operate properly. I can write a book on how health and education field was destroyed. A book can also be written on the thar coal projects, on thar water projects and on the road infrastructure.

I know tht like me, u also yearn to see our mother land prosper, our people develop, get educated in true sense and us getting safe and clean cities.... Ppp is down to their 3rd generation which is ruling sindh and over their time no one... No one but their ministers and leaders hav prospered from a meter reader in wapda to a billionaire and from a clerk in an office to a mna worth billions in property.
Trust me ppp is like the dead dog in the well... No matter what we do, how much water we remove.. . The water will still smell and the people will go thirsty. We have to tie a rope and pull this rotting dog out and throw it away. There is no other way.
