Just came across this new tilt rotor design by AW/Leonardo namely the AW609. Although it has a smaller body than that of the Osprey I was wondering what implications would a tilt rotor have for PakMil. Perhaps in high altitude theaters like Kargil, Balochistan, Western border/FATA etc.

Also since we're already buying from Italians and they've been selling to us without any chicken sh*t that Americans usually put up.

I was going to talk about this, tiltrotor have better high altitude endurance than simple helicopter's. I think China is working on some tiltrotor so it would be wise to see what they are building.

I don't want to sway away from the Topic at hand, but while I speaking to the Officials at Leonardo at the DxB Air Show '19 (next to the M-346), the guy seemed really thrilled when he found out that I was from Pakistan.

I don't remember his exact words, but were down the lines of: Yes were are now working closely with the PAF.

Now its safe to say that he was probably talking about the AW139 or the fact that Leonardo (now) have a Regional Office in Islamabad. Maybe it may have something to do with the Grifo E or who knows...a tilt-rotar Aircraft.

Q. Does the Pakistan Armed Forces really require such an aircraft?

Data or else it is just an assumption.
Too many weapon systems PakMil has looked over because of these puny excuses. Even when it both had resources and the oppurtunity.
Money is the thing we are not getting AH1Zs. If we had money, we would be going for LRSAMs

Very good if Pakistani military can afford it, just imagine having a MPA on a Frigate when needed or AWACS stationed on remote hilly area or deployment of SSG rapidly as tilt rotor have both characteristics of plane & helicopter.
