What's new

India calls off Sushma Swaraj’s meeting with Pakistan’s foreign minister in New York

Naa its not a rocket science ... you have your Army ruling the country more then the democratic elected govts in last 70 years and when you have civilian govts .. power is still in Army's hands ... a general can invade other country while civilian govt have no clues its possible in only country ..... Its not media its history and past that taught us .... that why I said talks are useless and waste of poor tax payers money on both sides , better focus on other problems

Like as if important foreign policy issues aren't decided by the Indian army in India LOL The Indian army dictates Pakistani policy from A to Z. Spare us your BS sermons.

If army is ruling in Pakistan we applaud it. It strengthens Pakistan's security in face of hostility. We have already seen how democratically elected leaders like Nawaz Sharif and Zardari have benefited Pakistan LOL

Here is a view from the other side of the border hich doesnt corroborate with Pak view. Read the timeline:-
1999:- Vajpayee rides the bus to lahore in hope of peace with pak govt.. Later that year pak army responds with kargil.

2001:- Talks take place between Vajpayee and Musharraf in agra. In oct 2001, terrorists attack J&K assembly. In Dec 2001, terrorists attack Indian parliament.

Then small incidents along the border for a few years till,

2007:- Samjhauta express blast.

2008:- Both India and Pak decide to open trade route across kashmir, pak responds with Mumbai attacks.

Fast forward few years to 2014, talks start on phone and a few unofficial/unscheduled visits Pak responds with Pathankot, Gurdaspur and Uri.

Everytime India has extended the hand for talks and towards starting normalization of relations, terror attack takes place in India.

Even now India and pak agreed to hold talks, Pak releases stamps with faces of terrorists on them..when India lets it go for talks, Pak sees it didnt bring a response, army mutilates body of a BSF jawan and then kidnap 3 policemen.

Whats the incentive for India to hold talk with the Govt of Pak? Clearly Pak govt has no say in relations with India. Why should India keep on taking the first step? First Pak has to sort out who controls relations with India, Govt or army. Maybe Govt wants to have good relations with India, but pak army clearly doesnt.

Indian army's inputs are important but final decision is in hands of cabinet ... Army cant supersede cabinet and parliament

if you know this then why send letter and accepting FM meeting first place ?
Sigh !

Someday Pakistan & Pakistanis will understand when they have been set up.

Read the tweet I have quoted in a post above.

Talks are futile... I fail to comprehend what is it exactly that IK hopes to achieve through them... lights, camera, action ending in a spectacular flop, as usual, would only cost us time and energy which could be spent on more realistic pursuits... for those who are skeptical, here is a brief reminder of some of the dirty tactics being deployed against us for decades...
  • water aggression
  • exploitation of Afghanistan
  • Iran-Indo alliance
  • economic warfare
  • funding of separatist movement and proxy terror groups
  • false flags (Samjhota express, Mumbai)... and so on...
India is an existential threat... period. Every time these negotiations seem to be getting somewhere, there is a Pathan Kot or a Mumbai attack and we are back to square one... when would our leaders realize that talks are not in India's interest... It only keeps up the pretense to fool the international community...

In my opinion, there is only one solution to India: Balkanization. If the mighty Soviet Union can be brought down, then why not India?... How can we stay silent on Khalistan, Assam, Nagaland, and Naxalite movement when India's PM openly calls out Pakistan on Balochistan??; and not-so-openly, sends Kalbhoshans across the border...
If India supports BLA and PTM, then Pakistan has every right to back India's separatists as well...

However, this is easier said than done. In my opinion, Pakistan has neither the resources nor the influence to wound India to a significant degree. Bringing China onboard, however, could be a different story... with Beijing's growing influence in India's direct neighborhood, the latter might soon find itself surrounded and isolated in the region... An internal political scuffle, coupled with a plethora of separatist movements (both externally financed of course), would not only force India to relocate troops from Kashmir to other parts, but also make India reconsider its stance on the issue altogether... With added economic and diplomatic pressures, who knows India might even find itself difficult to exist as a single entity one day... And only then folks, would Indians actually wanna listen to what we have to say... until then, it's all a pretense (well, in this case, they aren't even pretending anymore)...

"laaton ke bhoot baaton se nahi mantay"

India's rejection of OBOR and alliance with the US could be a costly mistake and could possibly catalyze this process further.

looks like you do have problem with us but you dont want to talk about it :) . anyways its good since you back off from the offer its cool :D .

Good for Pakistan. It's upto foreign office to cash this victory..

Now it's time to act aggressive, we being smaller country cant afford to act big all the time.. enough with this one sided desire of peace, good boy attitude.

Oh u misunderstand. India continuously extends the hand of friendship coz we wanna sort out the relations. but its ur army that doesnt want that. You need to sort that out first.
