PAC Kamra Set To Sign Two More Big Contracts

The Super Mushak is a very versatile concept. KAMRA should work on an unmanned UCAV version. A lot of weight can be saved by removing the whole pilot cockpit, as well as increase in payload.

Drones are the way of the future. This can quiet easily be done (compared to creating a UCAV from scratch) and can be significantly marketted to the dozen or so super mushak operators today.
Here's a story that I head from someone in the know. You can choose to believe it or deny it.

Around 2017-2018 PAF actually considered this Mushak UCAV idea quite seriously under project Azm. The PAF bosses asked how long such a project would take. The head of flight dynamics and control said 2 years or more. PAF bosses said it shouldn't take more than 6 months. Not sure what happened after this exchange but the head of flight dynamics and control left PAC around that time and is now heading Woot Tech (recently launched a drone for Food Panda) and clearly no Mushak UCAV project took off the ground since 2018.

That folks, is the story of our R&D.

"This cannot take as long as India's projects" is basically the rule. No credible R&D expert will accept that.

We should've seen a red flag with AZM when the CAS at the time said, "oh yea this will fly by the end of the decade" without a plan to hire 10,000 engineers, set-up a proper industrial basis, etc. The correct thing we should've heard was, "This is a multi-decade program." Full stop.
