Obviously can tell it inherited many from technics building for JF-17 or more exactly prepared for the No.10 Project in last ten years.
Besides the new glass-cookpit, the most important upgrade must be the avionics behind those MFDs and distributed all over the plane. But just as the formal JH-7 everybody knows, those can't be easily get in a short period of time. And that's why there has been so many articles perticipating improvement of JH-7A in almost a year and even said AL-31F would be equipped on it.
Just remember US Paciffic Navy Commander's visit to China few months before? We offered the chance for him to sit under the canopy of a latest type of JH-7A, and from his words and attitude later u can tell he must had seen sth INTERESTING.
After all of the anticipations, now we can say that China's technic for building a advanced 3rd generation avionics is totally mature and she has the ability to develope electronics for 4th generation fighters, it will be absolutely different from Russian types and closer to western standard.
We can also infer that there must be a further upgraded radar general suitable for the advanced cookpit and more powerful on Air-to-Surface BVR attack. Maybe it's a new version of type 1479 ( maybe it's this number... sorry 'cause I'm tired of reviewing those data ), or JL-10, but what I want to say is - that when JH-7A is equipped with the ASEA, you should not be too surprise.
