Zartaj Gul accused of promoting brand under the banner of ‘plastic-free’ campaign

  • People accuse Zartaj Gul of promoting her friend’ brand under the plastic-free campaign.
  • The polypropylene that were distributed among people (in official capacity) were from a company named Gaia Green Bags, which apparently belongs to the minister’s friend.
  • People say that the Minister asked them to use it as an alternative, which can be regarded as ‘promotion’ of the brand.
Minister of Climate Change Zartaj Gul has been accused of promoting a friend’s brand under the cover of ‘plastic-free’ campaign. The claims were made by owners of brands and shops, where the Minister herself visited and distributed the ‘alternatives’.

According to an employee of the famed sweet shop, Jameel Sweets, the minister came to distribute the bags and suggested to switch to them. Inam ul Haq, who works as a factory manager at Jameel Sweets, told that the Ministry of Climate Change approached the outlets, handing over Gaia bags, asking to use them after 14th August.

In western countries any company which promotes Green technology gets a tax break. Like if you buy an electric car Government pays you near £5000. And if you install solar panels even then government pays you.

So if this company didn't pay her anything then it's not a big deal but if they did then she must be punished.

Rona dhona of Nooras is not stopping

Also OP is the same person who yesterday was gloating that he/she/it does tax chori. That is the auqaat of this person and here he/she/it is passing judgement. People forget their own auqaat very easily. Don't worry, I'm here to remind you. :partay:

Gaia Green Bags are not environmental friendly we need Biodegradable bags.

I fully agree with you …… After looking at Pakistani mentality we need brands to do this job (promote green bags) for better results...….. But if Minister taking money for this then this is corruption and she should be properly punished …… Not like that when she put her sister in very important place...

CONTENT DELETED - WITH APOLOGY.:(

I have asked mods to delete the topic on the following point only:

(a) after searching more I found that there were other bags which were also promoted. Or at least one other brand.

However, I still stick to my point that minister should not promote particular brand on individual basis irrespective of the fact that few are being given for free. As one person (shop keeper) has complained that minister has directed them to call the business for more bags.

I have changed the name due to it was being picked up by google search due to ministers name in the topic. Which is unfair to the minister.

That is why this should be referred to NAB and FIA for investigation.

This is second time she has shown lack of judgement. (allegedly this time)
i am agreed NAB and FIA should be involved in it
