Zardari Politics. Future of Zardari ?

@Leader,
By 'catastrophe', I was implying huge natural disaster or an open war against a foreign entity. Shutting down electricity--even in Karachi--will not buy Zardari time. And I don't think Zardari is looking to delay elections. Of course I don't know for sure but I think PPP is electorally not as weak as this forum implies; especially pertinent is that Imran Khan will split the anti-PPP vote. If anyone as old as me--mid 40's--seen Pakistani elections (I have even the 1970 one--vaguely) then they will see that what is now Pakistan has always had electoral/ideological alliance of PPP vs 'the others'. While I was never a Jiyala but I have supported PPP since 1985 or so and only now Imran Khan is moving me away from PPP..but I digress.
To repeat:Elections will be held on time, minus some catastrophe as I mention above. I don't have any predictions to make! I simply don't know Imran Khan's electoral chances. Minus Imran Khan factor, I would have predicted a Nawaz Sharif sweep based on Punjab alone.

And I am glad that you see that a Zardari Presidency is a non-issue in a non-PPP govt. He will be the President Ch. Fazal Elahi II. I hope other forum members too see that.

Yes, it has always been like this bhutto and anti bhutto vote.

everyone should see there is no actual harm in him being in presidency.

He will not be re-elected as President. Even if he re-elects himself as President - the next government will have the option to impeach him just like Musharraf was to be impeached before he resigned.

His future is very bright, nobody in Pakistan get caught in wrong doings. So after he is no longer the President, he will sit comfortable in his 'palace' of Pakistan, Dubai or UK and after 5 years when the public is fed up from the next government... He will be treated as good person once again. Just like during the time of 2008 he was suddenly being regarded as Good person and everybody was roaming around him.

Not everybody, the noon leaguers mainly. #PMLN

oh so we wondered here how a situation can be created that would put Zardari in a position to be re-elected?

dont we see one hell of a institutional crisis just being created out of almost nothing?

PPP is not that weak but remember there is a difference between Bhuttos PPP and of Zardari’s and you will know it exactly & more visibly in none other than province Sindh (urban as well as interior)…..marks it:coffee:

And yes, There is a potential splitter in forms of PTI in Anti PPP votebank but it could be minimized near elections to only at strong electables ever pulled by PTI and whose chances are diminishing too by every passing day.

If anyone as old as me--mid 40's--seen Pakistani elections (I have even the 1970 one--vaguely) then they will see that what is now Pakistan has always had electoral/ideological alliance of PPP vs 'the others'. PMLN has only handful of days before 2008 elections and there is a call of boycott in the background of their covensing throughout as well, PMLQ too has more pro and supportive bureaucracy and establishment as well at that time.

Therefore, The Anti PPP votebank which always backboned by PMLs would eventually falls in coming elections to its natural front runner….PMLNs in all other 3 provinces as well, and this prospect is strenghted by the fact that half of PMLQ is already aligned un-naturally with PPP:hitwall: and the other half with PMLNs naturally!!

For me, If IK had the chairman of PML(I) then their is a sure shot split throughout Pakistan:coffee:

I don't see any issue to zardari for being re-elected. from new or old parliament. In current scenario, the only powerful party is PML-Q+PPP+ANP and MQM, since in next election they will create an alliance so PML-N, PTI and other has no chance at all.

.
i dont think he will get re-eleclted. If he does so then we must kill him. Though he will try his best to remain in power to enjoy amunity and to refuse SC rulling. .
Kill him. Ok go ahead. This will ensure PPP seats for next 50 years.
PPP is not bad party but zardari group is the threat even for his own party!! :coffee:

.
I heard that there is a deal going on between Zardari and Fouj... Fouj has offered Zardari that they will support PPP win elections if Zardari promises to set down as President, once the mechanism is set the deal would be finalized...

.
Future of PPP is future of Zardari and CO. PPP has a strong vote bank thats it
