What's new

Zakir Naik's Peace TV fined £300,000 for hate speeches as it pulls out of the UK

I have a close childhood friend, a Muslim at that one, who had a habit of visiting Haji Ali and Siddhivinayak temple on the same day before something auspicious. Like exam results, or even before proposing to a girl. It lucked out well for him with that girl.

Now people would argue what business he has in a Hindu temple? But lots of Hindus visit Haji Ali as well.

That is why Indian Muslims can be so different from their Pakistani counterparts - religion does not make the whole fabric of a person. It's often cultural. But, you have to be a secular Indian to understand that thing which unfortunately is a struggle in Hindutva India. Somewhere in the last decade, we lost that nation.

In a similar way I don't see much in common with Pakistani Hindus. They really look and behave different.

EDIT: Let me add this guy wasn't overly religious. He was always clean-shaven (to impress the girls, of course). But he did observe Ramadan fasting and Halal rules. Religion to him was a private matter. And I would say, not the only Muslim person like that. Loads of them were identical.

It was really nice to hang out in a group and noone really cared what religion you followed. Of course, in my immediate friend circle, that is still the case. But not sure about the rest of India nowadays.

Curious to know how they look and behave differently?

Hey, I didn't mean to single anyone out. I only said that Indians and Pakistanis are really very different. The Sindhi Hindus living in Pakistan have a characteristic Pakistani appearance, dressing style, and even accents/language.

Also, many Indian Muslims on average don't appear as religious as their Pakistani counterparts. Now I am aware many Pakistanis can also be agnostic/secular, but that's a separate topic.

wow! this thread is educational for anyone who wonders wth happened to Pakistan. these guys cannot believe Pakistan is not Islam, they are only a tiny fraction of muslims and there are almost as many muslims in India as in Pakistan.

He plays both sides. Before his banishment by the BJP government... He was a proponent of Hindu-Muslim Bhai-Bhai BS!

He used the mantra of Pakistan bashing to appease the Hindus of India. Trying to be more Loyal than the King.

Now he is running for his life... Looking for a "Pakistan"... Lol.

What a looser!!!

Much of what you have stated here is devoid of reality and stitching together different events to strengthen your weak position.

Being the subject of a witch-hunt by the BJP is different from not speaking ill of other faiths, that you are conflating with Hindu-Muslim bhai bhai.

.
Nope.

He said that Pakistan should not have been created!

He associates Hindu idolatry with monotheism.
1. His views.... Pass kr ya bardasht kr, many more noteable people used to believe that, even today a faction of political parties inside this country have that ideology.

2. So? What he says is backed by his views, I have talked to brahmins, they do indirectly admit some parts of what he says.
He studies their books critically and reached to that conclusion and proved his points by debating hindu scholars infront of them.... And you? Tch tch tch....
Indian Muslims are living in India....
They should be pro-India.... All of them.
Dont confuse it with being pro-Hindu.

As a muslim will all of us admit the going to Dargah and making mannats in name of deceased is kufr or atleast wrong? People go to dargah without wadu or ghusl and spend their time sitting there even not praying in mosque.... Right ehh??

.
Please. Why can't you understand that Pakistan is a nation state. People living outside a nation state will never have any loyalty or kindred towards it.

Fair enough. He shouldn't cry foul now when RSS is showing him their true colors.

Sorry but I cannot agree with that position of yours. What he has gone through is because he is a Muslim. His opinion on Pakistan is irrelevant to those that choose to oppress him. You should not derive any joy in his suffering just because he has a different opinion on the Nation State.

I can give you a dozen analogies, but I am sure you get my point.

I hope authorities do keep a check on pro Zakir posts on PDF.

These are all anti Shia people who support him.

Wanted to check if Altaf Hussain, after his recorded speeches and provocation to kill masses has been fined for "Hate Speech" by the great Government of UK - yet?

I suppose you are much elder than me at least by 15-16 years . At that time people had lacked religious teachings because of lack of proper teachers however all changed with internet boom people are getting more knowledge while many returning to the proper way for worship while many left .

At that time people had lacked religious teachings because of lack of proper teachers ...

 I'm sorry I really lost you here. You mean today's teachers in India are more "proper" compared to the teachers 15 years ago? OK, LOL.

It is true that Internet has increased the knowledge of the average person. But my point was different, it was about Indian secularism.

I meant to say at that time the platform to reach the masses were absent you have to depend on people who may not have the full grasp . It is just not about religion but in every cases
