CHINESE aircraft the Y-12F has received certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The Y-12F, a new regional turboprop aircraft, is the third in the Y-12 series, manufactured by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), to obtain FAA certification, following the Y-12IV and Y-12E.

An FAA certification means an aircraft has met high industry standard and paves the way for its global sales.

Y-12F aircraft can be used in various industries including passenger and cargo transportation, maritime monitoring, aerial delivery, aerial shooting, geological exploration, medical rescue and artificial precipitation, according to AVIC.

The maximum take-off weight of a Y-12F aircraft is 8.4 tonnes. It has an economic cruising speed of 400 kilometers per hour and a longest cruising range of 2,255 kilometers.

Over 200 units of the Y-12 series have been delivered and are operated in nearly 30 countries and regions worldwide. Domestic and overseas demand for Y-12F aircraft is expected to exceed 100 units in the coming two decades.

LOL that goes without saying.

In topic : it's a beauty. Love the design. But the demand seems less for this plane. 100 units? In two decades?

Yes, I'm forgot for MA-700 :hitwall:
Thanks very much for your adding @qwerrty

AG-600 is Badass one, The Largest Amphibious Aircraft in the world !
Cannot wait to see, AG-600 is Travelling in South China Sea.

foreign aircraft companies that are now owned by AVIC :D

Congratulations to china. Are the engines local?

MA-700 can be an interesting option for Pakistan to produce locally for civilian and military purposes as its in the same class as our SAAB-2000 and ATR-72s. @Quwa
It's smaller and lighter than the ATR-72, but I can definitely see this being used in our Northern Areas. I'd be interested in seein the STOL and VSTOL performance of the Y-12, especially on unprepared air strips. Imagine outfitting a few of these with ISR, ELINT or COMINT equipment, or using them to manage our northern transport network.

Good news! Institute 608 (株洲航空动力机械研究所) has provided the WJ-9 turboprop (涡桨9涡轮螺旋桨发动机) for Y-12 series since 1995 till nowadays, they are equally instrumental. As a side note, this very matured 507 kW powerplant is also used on other platforms like CH-5 UAV, such broad usage will further assure maintenance backup to Y-12.

My bad. Yes, the MA-700 would be an interesting option, definitely looks comparable to the Saab 2000 and ATR-72. That said, it's still a few years out of flying and being inducted,
