money to be made, diversifying their income streams and on top of that, it's sportswashing. Associating their name with stuff people already like, creating a positive image of Saudi.

I would imagine China to make similar moves to increase their soft power and propaganda capabilities.

Not really. WWE was a big thing in KSA in the 1980’s and 1990’s and somehow gained popularity among the locals to the extent that you have local WWE athletes today.

WWE have been hosting shows in KSA for almost 10 years.
