Is there any chance that IAF would consider Mig-35 instead of additional Sukhoi 30MKI if the talks fail with French?

Mig-35 was in race for MMRCA would mean if selected we will get complete TOT on this......only delay might be on AESA development.

We already have Mig-29 and upgraded Mig-29 with IAF.

LOL Mig35 failed in MMRCA totally.

If we could rank all 6 performance wise in MMRCA Mig35 would be at #6

Not totally failed ...MiG 35 was rejected on the base of Engine Life cycle....
Not a bad move towards MiG-35, If we are getting 100% TOT with MiG 35 .

No, I dont think so. Mig 35 brings no whatsoever advantage to the IAF.

when we can get SU 30 with TOT why Migs. IMO we should get either super sukhois or SU 35 !

If we are getting 100% TOT.

But of what? A decades old design? Engines that IAF found to be not good enough? Avionics that we constantly replace with better Indian or western counterparts? Inferior weapons?
All they can offer is ToT of the AESA and the TVC system, but that's it. We already get the best of what Russia can offer through MKI and FGFA, which makes the Mig offer, industrially and technically pointless. As a fighter it falls even shorter compared to Rafale and EF, which makes it all in all to a bad choice.

I no longer see Rafale in the Picture . What we are going to see is a possible induction of 80-90 Su30 MKI as a stop gap before followed by induction of 240 LCA MK2,

4 more MKI Sqds will enable us to retire the Mig27, while LCA replaces the Mig21 Bisons,

The only Problem it seems is the Jaguar IS/IM retirement, 3 sqds of which are suposed to retire between 2022-26, Rafale was suposed to replace them,
If rafale is not inducted, then we will have to wait for FGFA, to replace the Jags

Also, I am not sure if any of you guys remember,

But India has already ordered 80 More Su30 MKI than it originally planned.
initial contract was for 50 Aircrafts to be delivered Directly from Russia, followed by 140 Aircrafts to be made in India under TOT. India ordered additional 40 MKIs in 2007 to be delivered directly from Russia, in anticipation of Delay in mmrca. Another 42 were ordered to be built by HAL, in year 2011, also in anticipation of Delay in mmrca.

At present HAL has 57 MKI to be delivered, these will form the remaining 3 Sqds.

I am expecting that During Putin's next visit . We will sign another contract for 40 Su30MKI to take care of any jitters within IAF, because of Delay in mmrca
