World Bank wants Pakistan to accept ‘neutral expert’ in dam dispute

If we count each threat of war against India as 1rupee, pakistan can easily build dams without any problems.

So I suggest, you get on with your dams as fast as possible instead of threatening India bcos as you said, 50 yrs from now fresh water is going to get scarce.
Indian Government is spending a huge amount against most of the Dams. India doesn’t want that Pakistan ever builds these dam and saves that water which at present is totally wasted and which would very badly be required in the coming days. It is very unfortunate that many politicians and feudals are on the Indian pay list just to oppose most of dams.

You are the master of yourself, not everyone is on Indian payroll. Get out of this fantasy and stop finding excuses for not building dams.

Kulbhushan Jadhav to Ravinder Kaushik, We have seen a long history of Indian fantasy in Pakistan and how many more you guys planted it is really the fantasy for us.

World Bank, IMF , they are all American tools of war. It's clear from day one that world Bank is completely favoring India with America pulling the strings from behind.

Pakistan is wasting it's time with such machinisms where it will never get a favourable outcome. Start arming Kashmiri struggle properly and get on sabotaging such Indian projects.

Fuk world bank, we should fight for our water, simple.

I fully agree... i don't know, why army is acting pussy in this regard.
Everyone might have listen to the interview of ex Indian army chief bikram singh.... he openly confess of Indian state policy of spreading terrorism in Pakistan.
Indian politicians openly say... they are waging water war on Pakistan, while in Pakistan people are busy watching cable tv.

My Freind Pak Army is very smart and our GHQ General is not like a ordinary politician . I'll give you very small hint and you get the idea what is going on in background. After seven decades of friendship, Pakistan and China are cementing their bilateral engagements by the initiation of the China-Pakistan-Economic-Corridor (CPEC). China remains the most valuable investor and facilitator in overcoming Pakistan’s existing acute shortage of energy. CPEC not only includes many coal based power plants (e.g., Sahiwal, Engro Thar, Port Qasim etc.) but it also some hydropower projects like the Suki Kinari and Karot projects. These would be jeopardized if India were to interrupt water flows.
Last year, China blocked a tributary of the Brahmaputra River in Tibet, which sent shockwaves to India. Pakistani media perceived the blockage as deliberate Chinese pressure to ease mushrooming Indian pressure on Pakistan. China, though, asserted that the move was necessary to construct the long-planned Lalho hydroelectric project and that the construction would not interrupt water flow toward India. Still, many saw the move as a “soft” message that India should refrain from instigating water wrangles with Islamabad. This interpretation is largely buttressed by the timing: the initial work on the Lalho project started back in 2014, but the blockage came immediately after Modi’s water warnings to Pakistan. China’s Zam Hydropower Station, which became operational in 2015 on the Brahmaputra River, also raised Indian eyebrows over the prospect of disrupting water supplies.
Starting from Tibet, the Brahmaputra River flows into Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and later into Bangladesh. With control of the Tibetan headwaters, China could block the water flow at any time. Unlike Pakistan and India, there is no water treaty between China and India; however, both established an Expert Level Mechanism (ELM) in 2013 by which Beijing would provide India with data on water flows. Indian utilization of a water blockade against Pakistan could thus invite China to retaliate in kind, making things worse for the entire region.

wont happen....But instead of this drama, we need to take big n bold steps....by keeping all the options in mind, including military/nuclear.

India shares water issues with nearly all its seven neighboring states. In the 21st century, where the Indian economy is on the rise and it needs regional peace to grow smoothly, sparking a water crisis will not give India a positive image. Territorial disputes already mar India’s bid to become a vibrant international leader, and revoking the IWT or any other agreement with neighbors could only add insult to injury. At a time when New Delhi is facing a number of water sharing disputes, reviewing a long-settled water-sharing formula with Pakistan would be a harmful option to experiment with. Instead of invalidating existent water-sharing procedures, India should try to find a mutual workable arrangement that could assist all, thus avoiding a water war.

FYI: http://newsweekpakistan.com/the-case-for-kalabagh-dam/

World Bank pushed Pakistan to construct Kalabagh Dam in order to address its water woes since 1960, and was willing to finance it. We didn't bother due to opposition from Sindh. Now that the water crises has deepened, we expect World Bank to stop Indian projects?

IMF have bailed our economy several times, most notably in 2008 when it became utterly dysfunctional.

WE have a thankless attitude towards these institutes which is not good. WE love to blame everybody for our problems but not our inner demons. Cry me a river.

I had predicted this even before Pakistan submitted its case to the WB. Pakistan will always find out the hard way.

There is absolutely no point in seeking help from the WB. We know who is pulling the strings here.

Just ask China to ramp up its dam projects. We know how to hurt India. India may block the flow of water, but others can do the same.

How does Chinese blocking Indian River give water to Pakistan?

India believes it will not get an answer for illegally cutting Pakistan’s water. They have forgotten that the same water flows from China into India and then to Pakistan. China can also divert that water to Pakistan. This will lead to drought in Indian Punjab and western states of India.

Always India is the villain trying many tricks, but always foiled by Pakistan and China in this game. Silly India
