If it's based on the ASER Reports than someone should dig into to the survey methodology.

It makes me wonder with such poor level of Maths in India, how come we are producing thousands of engineers per year, millions of art graduates. By the way, have you benchmarked Indian education system for comparison? Are you trying to emulate it? Do let me know if you produce better quality engineers than India or if you produce more no. of engineers per year? Somehow this evaluation seems hard to digest.

Its because having a population of more than a billion people, india can easily have thousands of engineers. Do the maths.
Oops! I forgot you will need our help for that.
Cheers.

I don't believe its a fair comparison, since Pakistan ranks only next to Nigeria in number of kids out of school. Pakistan(180 million people) has far more kids out of school than India(1.2 Billion).

Pakistan has most kids out of school in entire Asia and ranks next to Nigeria in global ranking.

It is not just how many are being educated, but what are they being educated on?

But of course, how dare anyone challenge India's delusions and notions. We must wait for a report by The Evil Yindu news source, compiled by the statistics bureau of RSS/VHP.

Let me try to help you with some interesting numbers

The Pakistani universities are now able to produce more PhDs in the next 3 years as compared to last 10 years. The total number of PhDs in Pakistan has reached the figure of 8,142.

According to the data available with ‘The News’, the number of PhDs has increased from 348 (1947 to 2002) to 679 in 2012 in agriculture and veterinary sciences, from 586 to 1,096 in biological sciences, from 14 to 123 in business education, from merely 21 to 262 in engineering and technology and from 709 to 1,071 in physical sciences. In social sciences, the number increased to 887 from 108 during last ten years.

Source: Total number of PhDs reaches 8,142 in Pakistan - thenews.com.pk

According to figures compiled by the University Grants Commission (UGC ), the number of research degrees awarded increased by over 50 percent from 10,781 in 2008-09 to 16,093 in 2011-12.
Source: Number of PhDs increasing in India : News

So Pakistan : 1947-2012 had around 8142 Phd's
India : 2011-2012 had around 16,093

Now since you are smart in maths kindly do the population ratio of India : Pakistan and then phd ratio of India : Pakistan.

It is not just how many are being educated, but what are they being educated on?

Providing basic schooling to kids is also one of the main goals, so why you want to ignore the kids out of school part. Infact, all provinces of Pakistan fare worse in literacy rate compared India's least literate state.
