It takes more work to utilize river water than drill into the ground. 1960s India was ruled by Congress scumbags who didn't do anything. Now ground water is depleted and farmers are struggling. Also we don't get along with Pakistan. So two targets with one arrow. That doesn't mean that India is eyeing Pakistan's share.

You can Google. India uses less than its share of 3 western rivers.
And we did try projects like building barrage which was blocked by terror activities. We very clearly want to work within IWT framework. Pakistan just blocks any development work irrespective of the fact that these benefit Kashmiris the most.

To date, there has been no instance where either party has been able to prove a violation of IWT. None. Zero.

There needs to be an end game. We can't just throw a treaty out the window to satisfy our ego. Then we end up being no better than Pakistan (Shimla agreement).

There is no doubt about the same opinion that Pakistan is getting far more water than they deserve and they need as well.It should be a 50-50 deal.Next step would be Pakistan should get the water only if they dismantle terrorism that they are using for last 3 decades against India and come to table to negotiate Kashmir.

I don't bother what entire world thinks about India.But if we've a weapon to twist our enemy's arm,we should use it.

Some people were saying that Pakistan's citizen will face difficulty.But same citizen stood behind Pakistan when they initiated terrorism against India as well as other neighbours.They're no better and should face the hardship.You can't get benefit from India and expect India willn't do anything when you'll use terrorism as weapon,right?

Its happening. India is pushing Pakistan to the table to renegotiate the rights on the remaining three rivers without touching touching the rivers India already has rights on. Just see the timeline of events happening. India isn't hard on building dams on its three rivers. Its focusing on the rivers passing into Pakistan. An the world is asking to solve it bilaterally. Fun part is india just like China doesn't stand by ICJ. That was the main reason india didn't stand by hell lot of countries to support Arbitration rulling on South China sea. I am aware what IWT is and don't try to teach me. As per your logic if that agreement was not fair then what took India so long for claim. Congress did rule India alone?
