Work on $8.2b CPEC rail line unlikely to begin soon

Good morning India! is today anti-CPEC Propaganda day for Indian?
Well as I am mentioning it from a long time....
The project is delayed if not cancelled and this is the backbone of cpec....
It maybe due to many reasons. Maybe they want to wait for new regime to come and start this project.
But whatever it is, it is not good.
Neither the team under Ahsen Iqbal is competent enough to persuade the Chinese.
First Diamer was abandoned, then this....
While punjab government was again ready to apply for loan under cpec for blue line...
We need a very strong leadership that handles cpec.
Many other projects are also delayed.

On topic... Everybody here says CPEC railway line is so good for Chinese trade as it saves much time and money for them... Then why they not fund $8 billion on their own???

The very idea that an Indian posted an article from a Pakistani source on CPEC is enough to set them off, regardless of the merits of the argument. They like to keep their heads in the sand. They have no choice. For Pakistan, it's CPEC or bust.

The question on bharati intent is, as I mentioned, everytime we show a CPEC-related power unit turning on, or motorway/expressway opening, there are crickets from bharatis. Meantime, there is an article that is based on speculation and bharatis are all over it.

You are not following news then, China doesn't want to take much risks. Hence why they rejected idea of SEZ near Peshawar while trying to include Hattar in CPEC. They also didn't fund D.I Khan-Halka motorway unlike other motorways like Sukkur-Multan etc

They basically have left Pakistan to fund western route from its own resources.

Railway is must expensive project of CPEC and next elections are some months away now.

Import of the Chinese decision is clear, Punjab is safe for investments, KPK is not. Much of the credit for this goes to Pakistans Vikas Purush- the Sharif bros.

I have followed news since day 1 of CPEC. Hattar is literally on border of Punjab and near Islamabad, it doesn't make much sense because its in KP technically but that's it. China backed away from SEZ near Mardan and instead wanted one in Hattar.

Pakistan proposed ML-1 and ML-2. China rejected ML-2 which goes along indus river and is on western side. And now even ML-1 which is much more viable with 80% of railway traffic is being delayed.

DI Khan-Hakla motorway is again 100% funded by federal gov while China is giving loans for Multan-Sukkur motorway etc All news point towards the fact that China isn't interested in western route at all and have left it for federal gov to fund from its own budget.

China have yet to spend anything on western route.

I really understand but countries like India, Pakistani, srilanka etc... They take loan for projects and expect it will generate its own revenue and hence will be able pay back for the investment done.

But, i hope that you are aware corruption level in our nations. Getting profits from any project now a these days very difficult and top of that paying loan and interest.

So i always that don't take too much loan even for your personal use.. we have few examples .... Srilanka port.. etc

The problem with srilanka is that its own domestic consumption is too less and hence cannot cope up with the investments (chewed much bigger then the mouth size)..... Pakistan on the other hand is a huge market with 200+million people and a tendency to grow at a fast rate....
As far as the loans are concerned, all economies who have grown is on loans (Martial plans etc)..... even if you see a business they never do business on their own money, its part of leverage ratios.......
You need to realize the fact the CPEC will give China a bypass point from malacca strait to trade with middle east and africa..... that huge quantum of trade will pass through Pakistan.....
