Women are our mothers - Turkish President Erdogan says

Erdoğan bashing reached new heights nowadays... some foreigners can't stand the fact that Turkey having an independent agenda in the region and following it's interests despite Western pressure. :smokin:
The more they bash and pressure Turkey, the more my sympathy towards Erdogan grows. If Turkey says A and sticks to its own interests and the west says B and keeps insisting and tries pressuring us into B with such dirty games, then i know who is better for Turkey.

You should stick to the military stuff cause you have no clue about the rest.
Very childish response coming from a so called TT.
One idiot comparing Erdogan to Goebbels(a Nazi) and the other idiot confirming it.

There are plenty of different 'conservative' views on the role of women, in camps ranging from communist to nazi, from Islam to Christianity. Erdogan is a grown up politician. When he makes statements like that, he knows what he is doing and inviting.

So, I beg to differ with your statement. Meanwhile, just because you don't like what I post, doesn't give you the right to start calling me names. How is that for childish (pot > kettle).

Why not give this answer before your childish posts?

The correct approach towards this topic is that the two sexes are equal (only source of distinction being the virtuous deeds) in the eyes of God but not identical w.r.t. their role in the society. Islam simply emphasises this natural/biological boundaries by making each sex responsible for his/her respective role! Hence the variation is legal rulings!

I fail to find the logical reasoning which may lead me to conclude that providing for the family (primary responsibility of the men) is better than raising up the family (primary responsibility of the women). On the contrary, the rank of motherhood (for raising the family) is more nobelar than the rank of the father (for providing the sustenance) as far as Islam is concerned.

If I take this argument further, it leads me to think why is specialisation not desirable when it comes to the household but desirable in every other thing? Should both the father and the mother be focusing on earning the living with equal emphasis and similarly for bringing up the family? Why should they not specialise with one taking the responsibility for earning the living and the other for managing the house? This is not to say that each sex has no share whatsoever is helping the other.

The implicit motivation behind feminism (in reaction to abuses from men) might very well be praiseworthy but its application in erasing these natural/evolutionary/biological boundaries between the two sexes will and is already destroying the household life in the western society. Not to forget, each single household is part of the fabric of the society.

Are you implying that ataturk has a Nazi mentality ? :coffee:
Erdogan is no Attaturk...The latter modernized Turkey and liberated women from the man tyranny and give her rightful place in the society, while Erdo is taking the whole country toward the unknown..

Seriously? How come defaming Turkey in every international arena is called an independent policy? BTW, isolation is not called independence. Turkey's foreign policy is no where close to independence.
The amount of BS Erdogan says and does is unbelievable. He was talking BS about how muslims discovered Americas before columbus, and other retarded stuff about women, civil rights, ... He has turned Turkey into the biggest prison of the world for newspaper writers, oppressing oppositions even some islamists ones, ... These are real symptoms of a populistic dictator, if you have not noticed it yet.

Ataturk said that a womans best job, most important job is to be the best mother. (Rough translation)

Are you implying that ataturk has a Nazi mentality ? :coffee:

"Kadınlarımızın genel görev ve çalışmalarda paylarına düşen işlerden başka, en önemli, en hayırlı, en faziletli bir ödevleri de "iyi anne" olmalarıdır."

Kaynak Göstermek Zorunludur: Atatürk'ün Kadınlar İle İlgili Sözleri

Another similar one saying that a womans biggest duty is motherhood. She is the first one that teaches the child which is why the duty is important.

"Kadının en büyük vazifesi analıktır! İlk terbiye verilen yerin ana kucağı olduğu düşünülürse, bu vazifenin ehemmiyeti layıkiyle anlaşılır."

Kaynak Göstermek Zorunludur: Atatürk'ün Kadınlar İle İlgili Sözleri

That's not honorable to take advantage from what Ataturk was saying. It's not honorable... BTW, you are talking in a way that if Erdogan really cares about Ataturk, and acts based on his principles. Ataturk was living in an era, which the number of countries who were recognizing basic women rights, was not even a 2 digits numbers. humanity has moved one, ever since that era.

No need to be xenophobic my friend. The most simple tool that populists dictators use, is triggering xenophobic sentiments among a society ;) Erdogan is a backward dictator, no matter of what foreigners/Turks say in some forum.

Mate, i'm not defending AKP's foreign policy, be it Israel,Egypt,Syria...

But first things first. When our government refused to fight against ISIS on the behalf of US. We all saw, how foreign media attacked Turkish leaders.... This article is the continue of that BS articles.

Esspecially in ISIS issue, Turkey is acting in according to it's interests despite continuous Western pressure.

Now, let's not mix a bad foreign policy with a independent foreign policy.

Yeah, discovering America is a BS sugesstion but this one is different. As i explained in my earlier posts.

He has turned Turkey into the biggest prison of the world for newspaper writers, oppressing oppositions even some islamists ones, ...
Yes, in general he is oppressing media. It's a well known fact.. But about the "biggest prison for journalists".... no, i won't accept this. Because some of the Jailed PKK members and their sympathizers happens to hold "journalist" title, they are hugely increasing the ratio.

These are real symptoms of a populistic dictator, if you have not noticed it yet.
Mate, i want to remind you that i joined the Gezi protests...my eyes burned for 2 days because of the tear gas.

for me, the most important thing is the negative attitude of the west and the deliberate misinterpretations of the foreign media. Erdogan's ideology doesnt suit me, but that doesnt mean we should deny his positive sides. What we see now is how Turkey increasingly becomes targeted by especially the western media for sticking to its own interests (vis a vis isis and the west's demands), and i am sure Turkey would have been treated the same if it was chp or mhp ruling instead of akp. Of course Erdogan's comments about motherhood or discovering the Americas is actually unnecessary for his position, but i wont tolerate it when foreign media gives his words a twist to portray Erdogan and in turn whole Turkey in a deliberate negative way. He's not a backward dictator, he sure has his flaws, but dictator title belongs to mullahs, assad and Arab monarchs. If we could replace Erdogan's first priority of focusing on islam with an even bigger Turkic vision, this man would have been even better.

This guy is getting a lot of bad press these days. Almost every word/action of his is being minutely scrutinized. He must be doing something very interesting.

Its not taking advantage. I pointed out the founder of Turkey believes that the primary role of women is to be mothers. I dont see how those types of statements are anti womens rights, because being a mom isn't a low position, it is actually a very honorable position because mothers are the ones that raise the next generation. And being a mom doesn't mean that other women who work in an office environment are better than a mom who stays at home with her kids. A woman can get an education and work but when she has kids and her husband makes enough money to support the family then really the primary goal of any woman with a young child should be to take care of that child.

I am here to protect the family structure im not interested in seeing Turkey destroyed in an irreversible way. Once the concept of what a family is gets destroyed a nation is in big trouble. You can look at urban areas in the U.S to get an example of what happens once the family gets crippled.

What a non-sense response, my friend. So every person who does not oppress women is a homosexual? BTW, what's wrong for someone to be a homosexual? Do you consider them less of a human being than yourself? :disagree::disagree::disagree:
Anyway, let's not fool ourselves, and let's not sugarcoat what he meant. Oppressing women is a sign of savageness, and never ever has made a successful family. A women should have the option to do whatever she wants, and we are absolutely in no position to impose our thoughts on their wills.
