IK has openly declared that Pakistan's "armed militias" - which he acknowledged were created my the military - are not useful anymore and won't be allowed: link. If the NYT story is accurate and if this policy is carried through then no longer will Pakistan's military play the role of both arsonist and firefighter: defense expenditures can decrease and the prestige and attractions of productive non-military careers may increase. In thirty years or so Pakistan can become the new Bangladesh!

Pakistan is NOT bangladesh's neighbour. In fact Bangladesh is 1000s of kms away from us. Iran, Afghanistan and China ARE the neighbours of Pakistan. Even Saudi Arabia, Oman, UAE, CARS are geographically closer to Pakistan than bangladesh yet are still not considered our neighbours.

The Chinese are an ECONOMIC superpower. No one in the world knows more about national economies or making money than they do. They would NOT invest $billions of dollars and build huge world class infrastructures all over Pakistan if our economy is so poor and heading south for the long term. Even more so since the Chinese have already earmarked further billions for investment in the coming years and decades. I would rather believe them than randoms on the internet...........

That's what I have said here 2 years ago. Do Pakistan's motor vehicle fleet size demand the 6 lane motorways connecting far flung cities? Even United States interstate highways are mostly 4 lane. Highways in low density states like Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana are just 2 lane. This is the case in a country with the largest motor vehicle fleet in the world. China's expressways are also mostly 4 lane. It is clear that, Pakistan's motorways are not demand driven. It was build to entertain the fancy ideas about development of the ruling classes. Worse, it was build by taking large amount of debt.

I present this not to boast about Bangladesh, but to honestly discuss the right approaches to take for success in Pakistan as compared to Bangladesh. The article is starkly truthful and realistic.

At the outset ....... let me clearly mention that I don't take any interest in Bangladesh nor its people, they are too emotional and are more close to what I would call indian mentality.

However, thank you Bangladeshis that you still find your success in comparing with Pakistan, though how ridiculous it may be but well it doesn't harm us.

Though I think it is necessary to point out the stupidity in your approach so I would like to tell and inform (both you and indians) had you gone through what Pakistan went through since 2001 through even today ......... we will see if you were able to stand on your legs.
