It hasn't been pro or anti China.

US and English propaganda (CNN, BBC and the likes) have been engaged in China-bashing for years:

The keyword is "increasingly", relative to before. It's not pro-China by any means. And once western media no longer has to expend its energy and political capital on bashing trump and Russia, etc, they will go straight back to bashing China.
