There is no doubt under its new leadership Pemra has started playing an active role in regulating the electronic media. The latest show-cause notice to the Bol News TV by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) says the show Live with Dr Shahid Masood discussed sensitive information “recklessly and carelessly”. Only a few days earlier PEMRA had put the maverick Amir Liaquat Hussain on notice for his reprehensible tirade against several other individuals. But much to the chagrin of PEMRA and many others, he was frothing and fuming on his and other channels the next day, mocking the PEMRA ban.

If the army would have arrested maryam safdar and other culprits, NS would have reacted and it was possible the system would have brought down, so army is still waiting for the commission report which is to be submitted in February. Lets see what happens next.

About the hafiz saeed the american boner was given back to americas back when they only put him under house arrest instead of putting him in jail and provided him with full security. There were news that he would have been assassinated

You are right ... PEMRA is not playing it's actual role indeed. There are anchors who are spreading anti-army rumours (without any evidence whatsoever), there are media men and women who are speaking against our founding fathers, etc etc ... PEMRA is not taking any action against those.

90 acres of Agricultural land is fine.

In the GCC officers, not just Generals get allotted similar things, including, completed multi story buildings, based on their service record. Its a left over from the British days.

It also serves as an incentive to those who work hard and honestly, given the power they have and the opportunities to make black money.
