Why is Pakistan not flourishing in tourism?

Indians will say it's their national dress.

Indians will say Urdu is their language nurtured in Lucknow.


Indians will say it is indian food developed in Hyderabad Deccan and later exported to Pakistan via migrants in 1947. The Iranians will say it is theirs.

lol Shalwar Kameez is not an Indian dress. It is only worn by some Indians, but not by most.

So what if India has Red Fort or the Red Mosque in Delhi.

India does not have K2.

We are a smaller country so naturally we have less we can show the world.

But Indians don't really wear Shalwar Kameez. They wear Dhotis, churidar, and kurta pyjama.

Secondly, We have ethnic groups which have nothing to do with India such as Punjabis, Pathans, Sindhis, and Balochis.

We could show the Kalash's clothing to the world.

The crux of the problem is being associated with India and being India's neighbor.

You said we are Indians who converted to Islam? But how? There is a logical fallacy in this argument.

We are not Indians in the first place. We are Pakistanis.

We could also show Indus River Valley Civilization which is mostly in Pakistan.

I was playing the devils advocate. I know there is more differance between Pakistan then there is between Germany and Britain. I won't even bother about USA/Canada. Or Ireland/Scotland but the fact is those countries have managed to create separate conspicous brands. Pakistan has failed to do so.

I mean think Canadian. They are mostly just bunch of 4th/5th geneation British migrants. But hey they are Canucks.

Foreign tourists to Pakistan more than triple since 2013

As terrorism recedes in Pakistan, tourism appears to be on the rise, with more than thrice the number of international tourists travelling to the country in 2016 as compared to just three years ago, Bloombergreported.

Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) data showed that international tourists have more than tripled since 2013 to 1.75 million in 2016, while domestic travellers have jumped 30 per cent to 38.3m, the report said.

1.75 million tourists visited Pakistan last year, up from a stagnant 1-1.1 million for many years, this includes foreign tourists as well, including a large number of expats Pakistanis visiting home and also a fairly large numbers of Chinese visiting Pakistan, about 170,000 or around it in a year.
