Why India needs to nurture Bangladesh

EjazR Saheb

Another piece of crap by your country. Bangladesh is the most peaceful nation in south Asia. It's Al that trying to make artificial civil war for no good reason. Your country need to come out this "statue que" of defending Al. Al doesn't even represent 50% population.

If bharat desire a good relation with bd than it must build relation with people of bd and that include BNP-Jamaat.

It would be nice if bharat resolve it's internal turmoil before giving us unworthy advice.

Personally, I don't believe GoI should support one party either. But AL came to power with a 2/3 majority in the last elections.

Even then, good relations is a two-way street. Under the BNP regime there were security related issues that were not being addressed. Even Bangladesh was affected for example with the 2005 serial bomb blasts by these extremists forces. On the other hand AL has been friendly and it is human nature that if someone is friendly to you, then you would automatically be friendly with them.

My main impression of the author, as I said before, was that Bangladesh is doing much better that even Nepal or Sri Lanka in maintaining security and stability in its country.

And again, certainly GoI should not interfere in domestic politics. Today AL is n power tomorrow it could be BNP. As long as BNP is willing to have good relations with India, which seems to be case from recent statements, then GoI should oblige as well.

The JI leadership has been accused of war crimes. I would assume the best way to finish of this issue is for the leadership to go to court and clear their name if they are innocent.

This is the core of the problem. Indians are accepting A and rejecting B---- Just because A serves Them well then B. Its Purely selfish Interests in the name of Friendship--- which now the Bangladeshi people realize well---And those who have realized it---You are stripping them of their own Nationality.

Adeos when dealing with the neighbours we have to take care of our own interest too,..its applicable to every nation in the world..its easy to have a good relations with countries who dont share borders with us but when it comes to immediate neighbors it will be little complicated ..its natural in every part of the world.
If India is a true Friend of BD----It needs to be The Friend of the people of Bangladesh---Not just a single party. No matter who is in power, India needs to support them equally. If not and Otherwise----then no need to make loud claims of Fake Friendships.
The Only way Where the people of BD will start believing India as a friend--- where they see India helping out the common Bangladeshi---with a consistent support, no matter who is in power--- But that frankly speaking India cannot do.

Adeos the problem is not that India is not treating BNP fairly but its the other way around..BNP dont like India very much its that party who makes the relation between India and Bangladesh sour..Under BNP rule that many of the anti national elements in India make base in Bangladesh and this make the relation between countries at all time low..
BTW, Those who are calling AL as the only and sole legitimate Authority---should know that in Democratic form of government--- This authority is not for ever---Few years from now they might not be in power---Will you have the guts to say the same about Their adversaries if they win????? People Voted for PPP in Pakistan, but they are cursing their decision now. A party's Legitimacy is not solely measured by the number of votes it got in the election--- But by the standing it enjoys during the course of Its governance--- The public view makes or brakes it--- If this was not the case then no party in power anywhere around the world, would have been Knocked out in the next elections--- And would have continued forever--- I am sure If tomorrow, the elections are held in Bangladesh--- the situation would be quite opposite----Same goes for Pakistan--- PPP wont even find enough seats to take the role of opposition--- So much for the legitimacy--- So don't you guys keep on tapping, the weakness of the system.

For me AL is not the only and sole legitimate Authority ..if it is then Bangladesh is not a true democratic country..its up to the people of Bangladesh to select the party they want to rule the country..and those who said they won with Indian help actually insulting the democratic process of Bangladesh and raising middle finger to the Bangladeshi peoples right to choose

Look at the article, Isn't it just asking Bangladesh, specially Al---- To do what India wants---- And every thing that India thinks correct, is correct--- dictating their terms and Back patting Al, for what so ever it has done, which are in line to the indian interests. Another funny thing is that, the author in his imaginations have portrayed--- India as heaven and All other its neighbors hell--- and you can add angels and devils in the respective places. Now here, he is making a suggestion to the rest-- that they can come out of that hell--- and enter that beautiful heaven--- if they follow what India tells them.

The fact is, All South Asian Nations--- are living in the same conditions-- or all most the same--and facing almost the same core problems--- but here huge false lines are drawn--- A piece of propaganda --- that sometimes works well--- specially when the masses are not literate---or less educated, and even if they are, they lack Vision.

Adios

I think you misread the article..read the post #5 of Ejaz ..the article says only Bangladesh has a stable condition in the neighbour hood and India should encourage it..Yes the article points out India's POV about Indias neighbours..there is no where he mention about India's internal situations..The author only saying about the neighboring countries..

Iajdani the author only comparing Indias neighbours..there is no where India coming to the equation and no where he comparing India to any of his neighbours ..

Why india and indians feels the need to nurture Bangladesh???

That raise obvious question when india look down on another country in what face indians expects any respect or anything in return????

Indians need to come to term with reality and stop living in superficial superiority bubble.

Proof? If you have proof, you should take it up with law enforcement agencies. Now please don't rant that all are corrupt in BD.
Yes, the father-in-law of Hasina's daughter was a razakar leader either in Faridpur District town or in Alphadangain the interior. For a link, you have to contact SH.

BNP ruled about 21 years out of 39 years in history of bd. Awami only 9 years so what does it tell you about bd?

Don't try to divert the point here. If you and your country men call BNP-jamat a fanatic party than it is you that calling majority Bangladeshis fanatic. Tell you what, we don't give any iota about your perception about us. Bhatais perception is insignificant to our ideology.

He has not called us fanatic rather it was your country man. He tried to give a true picture of bd's population.

That this is the reason why BD got screwed up?

Anyhow India keeps Khaleda Zia informed. Very recently the Indian ambassador called on her.

Hi,

The fight between the Bangladeshi and Indian members aside, the main gist of the article should be taken in the right spirit. It is calling on the Indian government to take adequate steps to ensure that the recent bonhomie between the two neighbours continues irrespective of whichever party/coalition rules the two countries.

As an Indian i am happy that we seem to be making progress in improving relations with our neighbours. Reducing the trust deficit between neighbouring countries will be one of our most important foreign policy challenges in the near future. Any hardliners or those skeptical of Indian intentions will have to be convinced otherwise.

Bangladesh will also have to realise that partnership with India will be beneficial to south-east Asia as a whole. After all it takes two to tango !

Janab

If I call you an anti-islamic bigot then would that be true?

Why should they go to court if they have done nothing wrong. They have their political right to defend then united pakistan. Just because a party was against the creation of bangladesh can not be war criminal. So far I know, You do not support for the seperation of kashmir from bharat so I guess you should be lablel as traitor by fellow muslims of kashmir. please do not take it seriously as I am trying to make a point.

There aren't any solid proof to back this vulgar claim that they were involve in any crime against humanity. These guys are very popular in their constiuency and around the country. If they were thug then they would have been beaten to death after the seperation yet no one has ever file a case against any of this leader for any specifc crime(rape, kill) done in 71 beside political case by awami munafiq.

let me give you an example: According to awami munafiq, Allama Delwar Hossain Sayeedi is war criminal yet when he deliver serman in Waaz Mahfil in any part of the country, millon devotee show up just to listen to this charismatic Aalim.

90% of jamat leaders and activist born after 71 so your country need reevaluate the policical culture of bd. Jamat isn't going anywhere as fer awamis and bharatis wish.

I also do not think that who were against creation of BD are war criminal except those who killed BD people or helped to kill BD people.

Any one born in BD had the right to say whether he want BD or East Pakistan. But if anyone killed/helped to kill innocent BD people then they are criminal. Govt should not mix up the criminals and the only Pakistan supporter (in 71) together.

@Al-zakir

Like I said, they have been "accused" but not "convicted" yet. I don't know the truth so I'm not going to speculate. But JI leadership can come forward and prove the "falseness" of these allegations if they are not involved in war crimes as you say.
