It is time the Israeli President visited India and the Indian PM/President visited Israel. I think the fact that Indian Muslims would oppose this move is incredibly patronizing and inaccurate. I haven't heard of a SINGLE incident of protest when high-ranking ministers from either side have visited either nation nor have I heard any protest to all the military deals and engagements going on nor have I heard any serious outrage to the huge number of Israelis who travel in India.


Incredibly backward thinking, nevermind all of the above Indians are incredibly welcoming people and I bet any visit by an Israeli PM/President would be incredibly successful and well-received.



And didn't the President of PAKISTAN visit not long ago? Was there much uproar about this?

i dnt think vote alone plays the role here...india has publicly announced its sympathy towards palastine..if at all there is peace in the region..then i'm sure bilateral relations will grow much stronger...besides..i dnt think an avg indian would be bothered about relation with isreal if something happens..it must be definitely poilitical

Indian stance on palestine is changing after Kargil. Guess why. Now India avoid publicly supporting the cause but instead advocates the peaceful solution.

2- The fact that good relations are been developing b/w Saudi Arabia and india including the major breakthroughs that had happened over past few months may have been refraining india to take any step...Saudia Arabia is a major muslim country and have influence over many other muslim countries so spoiling those relations will not be the priority of india .

I dont think iran is much of a factor here may be apart from the oil and other resources india get from iran but then if it would have meant anything to iran, iran would have taken steps immediately after closure of indo-US ties ...

At the end of the day iran too needs a buyer for its products ,a country which is already alienated will never think of ruining the relationship with few of its buyers

Also the recent development in Saudia Arabia-india relations have not prompted iran much , Recent development b/w Saudia Arabia-india means an alternative source for india to get the oil so india will not be much bothered about iran if thats the case
