Why Did Afghanistan Just Suspend a Request for Heavy Weaponry from India?

Could be many reasons.

Anyway, I do hope Pakistan can supply heavy weapons. The recent ANA offensive against the TTP was costly.

All the best Afghanistan.

The vitality of Af-Pak cooperation can not be denied in order to secure peace and stability in the region. Both the countries must follow whatever suits them best.

Well even though i agree with you, Afghanistan should be allowed to source aid/weapon from any country it wants to be it India or Iran etc. Don't understand why Pakistanis here are against this, what should matter is that the Afghan government should establish peace and stability which will also benefit Pakistan. Pakistan shouldnt always be paranoid/against everything India does IMO. South Asians tend to be very paranoid about their 'rivals'/neighbours, reason why the region is still by far the poorest/backward region in Asia by a wide margin and the least connected where trade is barely existent/beyond their real potential unlike East Asia.

Anyway, India doesnt have the capability to export large volumes of heavy weapons to sustain a state/country like Afghanistan, reason it opted to just providing cash/fiannce to Russia to supply arms to Afghanistan on its behalf. Hope Pakistan wont be against this one as well.:cheesy:

However, its true Pakistan will almost always have the upper hand in Afghanistan due to its proximity to Aghanistan and their cultural/relious ties. So yes i do know Pakistan is crucial for any security/stability of Afghanistan, India's influence in this resepct/regard will always be limited since they dont have much access/connectivity ot Afghanistan like Pakistan does. But i believe India can contribute to Afghnistan development as well. Pakistan should welcome this and work a deal/peace with India , cant be ennemies forever afterall.

What today's opinion of Afghans have to do with Ghaznavids, Ghurids, Khiljis, Suris, and Durranis.
Are you in a time warp? Talk of Afghanistan's future. The Afghans love India except those nurtured by Pak intel agencies like the Haqqanis. Check out the video I posted on this thread. It's straight from the horse's mouth about what the ordinary Afghan thinks about India and Pakistan which is a non entity there.

My question is if the long standing request was pending why did india reject it in first place ?
And then again reconsider it ?

You jump from ancient ties to future in split of second, just like wikipedia page of India-Afghanistan relations. Anyway - I don't need to listen from house's mouth or donkey's mouth when i know that sentiment in Afghanistan is not in favor of Pakistan, same is the case in Pakistan as well. But IF cooperation between Pakistan & Afghanistan increase than those will come down faster than Indians think as we have population with family ties with Afghanistan.

The entire write from the Indian source webpage expresses nothing but the following

1. Frustration
2. Fear
3.Pakistan factor

A1. Undermining the current Afghan president GHANI.

I personally feel the way out for regional problem is counter terrorism cooperation by Pakistan and Afghanistan. Any third party will be spoiler whoever that party be

Ghaznavids, Ghurids, Khiljis, Suris, and Durranis - :pop:
Yes, they were the worst human beings that came to India. There are two theories of the route adopted by all of them--- 1.) They took a 387 air bus and landed directly at Ambala airport completely bypassing pakistan, and 2.) they came showring rose petals on pakistani villages all the way up to Lahore. They only started plundering after crossing Ichchhobal .

There is third theory that true Afghan was using vedic space crafts to have secret rosy relationship with Indian Union which nobody other than Indians knows.

Fun facts:

Much of their army came from modern day Pak... aswell as allies (chieftains etc)

Even Punjabi Muslims supported them aswell as allied with them.

They looted hindus n hindu temples and ruled from Delhi.

We don't want to sell our weapons :P

But don't worry . Future export to Afghan are very possible . Lots of weapons needed to strengthen Afghan Military . Tanks howitzer guns war plans etc .All are maturing in India and China . So both can provide arms to Afghanistan in near future . India will have good chance if they get cash from US .
Afghanistan needs schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, power plants, sports stadiums and peace as well !

Utter nonsense! Do read the historical ties between the peoples of India and Afghanistan.

Here's a video from Afghanistan about how the common Afghan loves India and Indians, in contrast to their opinions about Pakistan. (You Tube I believe is banned in Pakistan? Sorry about that. Shouldn't happen in a democracy, right?)

Do you want those historical ties back?
Are you willing host Ghaznavi and Abdali once again.
