Why China's hold on Brahmaputra bothers India

China also has serious water pollution problems. Tibet is Asia's water tower and almost all major Asian rivers originate from Tibet and China should really think seriously diverting south bound rivers to China's north and west. Only Chinese engineers can do this huge project.

I don't know if you know that such huge dams come with a lot of issues. Since the dams are being built in China, the seismic activity is goin to increase due to storage of water. Btw extra water pressure created by stored water is the most accepted logic behind seismic activity.
It is called induced seismic activity.

Do it at your own risk china.

The Three Gorges Dam also caused a slower rotation of the Earth, although minuscule:

"Raising 39 trillion kilograms of water 175 meters above sea level will increase the Earth’s moment of inertia, and thus slow its rotation. However, the impact will be extremely small. NASA scientists calculated the shift of such a mass will increase the length of day by only 0.06 microseconds, and make the Earth only very slightly more round in the middle and more flat on the top. It will also shift the pole position by about two centimeters (0.8 inch)."

India started with water terrorism. Now it will have to reap what it has sown.

What ???

By the way, Brahmaputra name itself shows to whom those lands belongs in reality.

Brahmaputra is the son of Lord Brahma. It is said that Shantanu, a famous ancient sage began a long meditation in an ashram in this area along with his beautiful wife Amodha. Amodha was so beautiful that Lord Brahma himself became enchanted by the beauty of Amodha and requested her to make love with him. But Amodha did not accept the Brahma’s proposal. However, by that time Lord Brahma had become so excited that his semen discharged at that place. When Shantanu came to know about this, he inseminated the Brahma’s semen in the womb of Amodha. Subsequently, Amodha gave birth to a son and he was called Brahmaputra. The tank near the ashram of sage Shantanu is known as the Brahmkund. Another legend is that because Brahmaputra is the largest river in India, it carries a male name.

First thing , Indian Nation is well aware what is important to them and even knows how our lands have been occupied by placing nukes in the 50's and 60's.

Again. If you don't care about dams on this river as @GR!FF!N claimed then ask your government to not take these issues with China.

And nobody occupied your land. All that you lost never belonged to you.

Indian Establishment has already raised the issue with the Chinese.

In March, India’s Union minister of state for water resources, Sanwar Lal Jat, said in a statement that the country had expressed its concerns to China about the likely impact of the dams.

While there is no water treaty between the countries, India and China established an Expert Level Mechanism (ELM) on trans-border rivers, and in October 2013 the two governments signed a memorandum of understanding on strengthening cooperation on trans-border rivers under which Beijing provides data to India on the water flows.

The blockade of the Brahmaputra river tributary comes at a time that India is considering reviewing the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan, which considers China its all-weather ally, in the aftermath of the Uri attack.

By the way, the current capacity of water storage available in 91 major reservoirs of the country for the week ending on October 06, 2016 was 118.431 BCM, which is 75% of total storage capacity of these reservoirs. This was 125%of the storage of corresponding period of last year and 98% of storage of average of last ten years.

The total storage capacity of these 91 reservoirs is 157.799 BCM which is about 62% of the total storage capacity of 253.388 BCM which is estimated to have been created in the country. 37 Reservoirs out of these 91 have hydropower benefit with installed capacity of more than 60 MW.

We should worry about Both. All the countries must abide by international laws and they do not have the right to do anything that negatively affect other countries.
no such thing.

Your first point is a crap so there is nothing to discuss further.

If India is not worried then don't take it up with China too.

I understand your brain can't handle that kind of complex information, but still...India always talks to China to ensure they never divert water from the main stream and also that it makes their dam with proper precaution and measure.Upstream dam can cause floods in lower regions during excessive water discharge.China is our enemy, but still they sometimes listen to reason, unlike Pakistanis, who are beyond any reason.

I might not be able to handle complex information but you low IQ bharatis are pathetic at handling even simple information. MY question is still the same. Why India is taking up with these dams when it doesn't care about China stopping water on Barhmaputra as you claimed. What happens in floods etc is none of your concern since you simply don't care about it. So ask your officials to stop talking these projects with China since as a troll like you claimed here on this thread.

Chinese are occupying Indian territory and talks are being held by the Indian and Chinese officials.

The 19th Round of SR Talks on India-China boundary question was held in China from 20-21 April, 2016.

We think the talk is about India's encroachment of Chinese territory.
