Why Capitalism will fail

Well, that is good for immediate implementation but in the very-near-future modern technologies like 3D Printing and Vertical Farming through which houses, plastic and metal structures can be built by machines and farming can be conducted inside buildings, can be used to erase the difference between office-worker middle class and outdoor-worker / factory-worker under class.

I am following the thread carefully, but don't have anything to say just yet.

@Nilgiri ought to be here, if only to watch and to read.

And you think motivation is money alone ? Wage slavery ? :)
Nope, but for major part, yes. What proportion of people actually invent something just to benefit the masses? Majority of the things that you find around yourself are products of capitalism. Take computers and its different versions, take laptops, cellphones, bags, chairs, types of cloths, etc. People have produced all these things to earn money, not out of some big noble cause.
The USSR, which was communist, created the "world's" first modular space station on which the present ISS is based.

[ Edit : The world's first space station was also built by the USSR - Salyut 1 ]
USSR has collapsed now and US has taken over. I needn't talk about the technological revolutions in US. I myself will be in US by the end of this year. Hopefully.
India is an extremely capitalist system. Yet where is the technological output from here ?
Why are you taking an example of India, when you have giant USA? Having said that, you can expect some big things from India in the coming years.
I have been designing a computer microprocessor for some years now. It has taken me some years to come to a point of finalization of the design. I was doing this by myself, without being part of a highly-paid team in some big shot company. What was my motivation then ? Not money since I don't have much.
That's a great thing. I wish you the best. But may I ask what is your motivation in designing the computer microprocessor?

Also, which system is powerful enough to replace capitalism?

Capitalism will fail because this word was invented by socialists to condemn it. Of course, in their eyes, it has to fail even if it doesn't.
Absolutely.

one kid policy for working class and no kid policy for under poverty class is need of time
Impossible to implement. I would say, max 2 child policy regardless of which class you come from. Population starts decreasing slowly and there won't be a sudden impact.

Well unfortunately he has a bit of an agenda (Africans in Europe displacing the declining white population which is due to capitalism) that he is building his whole video around so this spoils things.

Not sure where to begin because of it.

Um...well there's billions of people all over the world using up resources whether capitalism is around or not. Can you blame capitalism for the high world population..eh maybe you can claim capitalism led to medical breakthroughs that caused less people to die. In the grand scheme of things this isn't exactly a negative point...just a consequence.

Has capitalism led to out of control consumerism of mindless stuff not critical to life. It sure has. People have plenty of junk that in the process of being constructed caused some mineral mine hole in the ground to be made bigger, some stream polluted, and some smokestack to belch crap...for some throwaway trinket. If you live in the developed world you have exponentially more of this than a developing country.

Now there is awareness of this and I'm going to delicately tiptoe through this can of worms as I expect a horrible backlash. So there are complaints that the developed countries in the West have been dragging their feet on moving more countries from a developing status to developed. So why is that?

Well here's an example. In the 1990's there was talk about what to do with the situation in China as we could see the population was nearing a level where the average person could theoretically buy a car. With a population almost 5 times greater than the US the air pollution generated would be staggering. Now you could ban Western car companies from doing business there...but are you going to say "well we'd rather not increase world air pollution levels by encouraging the Chinese to have cars..but uh we'd like to keep our belching behemoths the way they are since they are pretty damn handy".

So this leads to a bit of a quandary in other products. The capitalist West has had a nice Genie in the bottle all to themselves for 100's of years and now it is slipping out. We have even offloaded most of our pollution problems to ride it out longer. In the US we have moved out the multi-family dense cities to single family homes with the tech needed to live very comfortably while we see what the fallout will be as the world expands...

@nang2 has already said in one line what I would have too :P

No one is changing/re-engineering human nature at vast scale at such vast extreme, without destroying humans in the process....and getting the reversals + counter-revolutions from that.

Mao and Stalin certainly "tried" their level "best"...that too within just their generation (not appreciating how long even small changes take of this size). We know how that went.

Human nature and pyschology simply has a basic rooted profit motive for livelihood and passion....once you leave the confines of family+faith (heart and soul) to venture outside for sustenance and means those two cannot provide.

We are born as, live as and die as individuals never having truly known another's reality (for we simply didnt exist as them)...that is the reality. We build society above that, but we are this fundamental brick unit. We thus intrinsically do not perceive things as a mushy hive able to switch and swap and "socialise" our existence and perceptions and senses.

Thus ultimately it is up to you the individual to choose to define how big the realm of family+faith (or more vaguely stuff that you will give to, without needing back) is i.e strictly your family (or even just yourself or not even that), maybe close friends....or if you will expand to strangers, society at large or country at large or world at large as you personally see fit... rather than have imposed from people you have never broken bread with...who more often than not turn out to (somewhat inevitably) be hypocrites and power-freaks themselves (that dratted human nature thing again).
