Well the thread speak about my perspective doesn't it? Anyways come from Canada to go through what I did and you'll understand why I am not a fan of it.

Lol, I visit BD every year. I've seen it all. I've never had to curse anyone at the airport though. Respect the airport staff and your life will get easier.

I understand your pov. It was a cultural shock. Having grown up in the Middle East, in a more "controlled and organized" environment, Dhaka's airport did not meet your expectations.

Funny thing is same Army never won any war

Alot has been won by Pakistan just that you always forget that it was India that broke from 1947 till today. kargil, LTTE sri lankan war, 1965, Kashmir 1947 you all lost. How can u even claim you won when a country 6 times smaller than you, is till equally and steadfastly standing stronger than ever before India, infact much braver than India.

I think with the deadly wars, battles in this age, thrust upon us and on eliminating Islam and Muslims and all the Muslims countries associated with, Pakistan is very much stronger, infact stronger than the 1.2 Billion Indians, plus Afghanis, can do sh*t till today except bomb blasts, acts of terrorism and instigating hate among Pakistanis.

Before we go down we will make sure to take India with us, and break it into more pieces than it was in 1947.

Pakistan = Over $ 300 billion by now
Bangladesh = $ 225 billion

GDP per capita PPP

Pakistan = $5000
Bangladesh = $ 3600

Poverty (world bank)

Pakistan = 8 %
Bangladesh = 30 %

Happiness Report

PK = 92
BD = somewhere in 120's

Quality of Life

( Karachi , Lahore and Islamabad all rank higher than Dhaka in mercers quality of life)

Education

PK = 10 Universities in top 250 ranking and 6 in the world
BD = 0 in asia and the world

Infrastructure

PK build highways in 90s and bangladesh is building them now .

Worldwide relevance

Pakistan = Regional power

@AsianUnion No He isn't a common BangladeshI. He is a 18 year old kid who lived in a rich nation with honey and butter and recently moved to this 3rd World Nation and suffering from cultural shock. Spitting on roads is a common problem for both Pakistan and Bangladesh. Just don't pretend you are better. Sanitary Use of Toilet is over 99% in Bangladesh and in Pakistan it hovers around 80%. He would probably react in the same way if he were a Pakistani and top of that He would be forcefully engaged to a deshi cousin.

People in this country are scums, no respect for one another. Spits on the street, throws waste from the balcony, gropes women if they get the chance to. I am done. I thought this country is fixable. But tbh not until people are disciplined. I hope I complete my education abroad and get settled abroad. And truth be told I used to despise people who used to adopt another country's citizenship. But now I understand why they did. I don't see my future in Bangladesh. I hope god keeps it that way.

No country was built in a day and no culture evolved in a week. When you say abroad these foreign countries put a lot of effort to fix themselves to get where they are today and you just want to enjoy it without doing anything?
If every body had left those countries citing what you said it would have been in same state as bangladesh.
Now dont be surprised when you dont get respect in those countries due to country of origin or skin color.
Ever wondered why individually we are so good but together damn so bad? we are a selfish lot who will spoil any place.

I have to agree with you and against popular advice on this thread.

You have only one life, everyone deserves some comfort, so if you have the option to live more comfortably elsewhere then go for it.

Bangladesh will not live or die because of you, eventually Bangladesh will raise itself to the limits of the capacity and talents of Bengalis, which are quite considerable, with or without your individual sacrifice.

Bangladesh's economic growth is termed by many economists (famously Goldman Sachs) as the miracle of the East, From 1990 to 2014, The GDP Growth never slipped below 6% (6.2% percent has the lowest) and now Bangladesh is expecting 7.2% GDP Growth from 2015.

On the other hand, Pakistan has suffered a severe damage in economy because of Terrorism Activities because Pakistan do have the ability to build a strong economy. Pakistan's GDP Growth has been as low as 1% (1997) and currently it's 4.2%.

Because as I said - ask your average rickshaw puller in Dhaka and he still wouldn't want to go back to being a part of Pakistan.

Dhaka is never going to be like Karachi, Pindi or any other major Pakistani city...in fact even in 50 years time, Dhaka will continue to be one of the worst cities in the world.

Population density of Pakistan - 250 per Km2

That in it self renders the conversation moot.

The fact remains we continue to grow faster than you, our foreign exchange reserves are larger and we export more. Oh and despite the recent uptick in violence, Bangladesh is a much safer country to live in. We don't have US drones bombing people at random.

We are richer than you , have a much bigger middle class , much better cities , better universities (world ranking ones ) , Bigger economy , more important , more relevant , world champions in 4 different sports , better in music and just about everything that i can Imagine .

USA thinks we have been making them look stupid for 20 years . You think BD can get away with things PK has done? Killing american soldiers in afghanistan? or as they say sheltering wanted american terrorists? Americans percieve PK to be a very shrewd country . There is a reason everyone fears ISI including americans. PK is a regional power not an irrelevant place like BD .

What happened with you at airport is not exclusive to BD corruption is a curse on our countries even Indian members will agree on this. Rest we all have a moment like this in our life where we think like this but common there's no need to hate your country so much. @Nilgiri

you are teen, well teenage life is about complain lol it is not your fault, it is age problem.
at this age we see problems mostly.
anyway, did you tell that guy to urinate in public toilet ? or just watched ? if just watched then your are also did bad for the society as you did not voice against his action.

My father was a Bangladeshi diplomat. I, too was born in Kuwait, lived in the UK, US (University of Virginia - Hoooooooos) and Aus. I got Australian PR and citizenship around 6 years ago. But came back to BD because people like 'me' were in high demand and the financial opportunities were pretty damn good.

The lifestyle obviously doesn't compare - you can have all the drivers, cooks and maids you want....when you get stuck on the mohakhali flyover, you ARE stuck no matter how much money you make lol.

But, it's not all doom and gloom. It is an adjustment, but I've seen first hand the changes the country has gone through.

Either way, you're 18...it's natural you don't see the big picture. You do what's best for you.

As for Economy Pakistan is in actual over $ 1 trillion now and BD is $ 600 billion . For Nominal its above 300 billion for PK and 220 for BD.

I hope we get Pakistan's Black economy yet to be accounted for soon under the radar, as we know how well Pakistan has rebounded despite all the world wars and battles past 15 years. Very well done to Pakistan!

@Mohammed Khaled Do not enroll in Russia or China. I don't know about Ukraine but should be close to Russia..Better Check Where you want to settle in your life and if that country is comfortable with Ukrainian certificate. Medical study in sub continent is generally considered better than China and Russia.

I hav seen all that. If I wish I can settle anywhere in Europe or America. Just got to write licensing exam.

I know the thing you faced in the airport....Once I went to BD flying Kuwait Airlines....so naturally a lot of my co-passengers were BD expats from Kuwait....once we landed almost all of their bags were checked...they came to check mine saw that I was from the US smiled asked me which state I lived in(I used to live in Georgia)...he had never heard of it....asked me if there were a lot of Bengalis there...chatted for a while helped me find a cart and showed me the way to the parking lot....Murica...fuq ya!
