What's new

Why Bangladesh rocks and why it will for a long time. My perspective

Thanks that what I was thinking as well. I had spent some good time in BD and BD is no doubt very beautiful place.

The major let down in BD currently is the very poor infrastructure. This should change in around 5 years time as by then all cities should be connected by 4-lane highways, major rivers like Padma bridged and able to cross by either road or rail and the upgrade off key railway lines to allow smooth and fast journeys between all major cities/tourist places like Cox's Bazaar.

in PAK...? like a paradise...!!! :woot:

how much u have to pay for data usage in BD...?
Its Neelum Valley i think lovely place a bit too chilly in the winters if you are not used to low temp :-)

i expected just a desert and war for PAK what i always see in western media.. no offense.. !! but here , PAK is green , beautiful , stunning place at all.. i will try to go there in next summer holidays.. :D
Frikin media they have misguided everyone how can a country having so many of the world,s top mountains be a desert ?

I visited GB last year and I have to admit that I am amazed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the people from BD. I met several guys from Dhaka in London and all of them has been extremely friendly, polite and nice to me + they invited me to BD.

What would be the main things "to do" for tourists when they visit Bangladesh as per Bangladeshi members? Im interested in anything from history to natural beauty to food.

bd get a lot of rainfall during monsoon... and freaky cyclones.. so no we cant help really... :)
Bangladesh has one of the highest rainfall in the world.Around 2500 mm average per year.So it is impossible to turn it into desert.Indian water withdrawal from rivers will hamper agricultural production in BD during dry season but turning into desert are just a rhetoric to increase anti-india sentiment into public minds.:P

Rainfall would stop with the rivers dying out TBH.
Not with the prevailing monsoon pattern. If all water from India stop flowing into BD,then rainfall will decrease somewhat, but would be still high enough to water the internal rivers. There are many small and medium sized rivers in BD which originate and drain entirely within BD.India can't stop them.Out of 700 rivers in BD, 54 comes from India and other regional countries.

BD does not have valleys and mountains are thick with vegetation and inaccessible.
For instance there are beautiful places for hiking in CHT but you cant drive you own car there. Same as Sundarbans, access is restricted and you can only get a limited glance from boats.
Sylhet tea garden and some valleys could be ideal for family outing and thats about it.

Nope. All post related to the country will come in series from me. It's better to divide it into series so that debate doesn't get mixed up. I still don't regret what I said on earlier post. Bangladesh is shit and people should accept that and try to improve than whining like a baby.
