It's not data. If you had read my earlier posts you would know I can not unsee what goes on in the GCC job market. This comes from my personal experience.
I agree, I used the term "Indian" too generally. That was my mistake. It is a very specific region in India that is famous (atleast here in the GCC) for it's unethical hiring tactics.
Well anecdotal experiences are good as a learning lesson for your own benefit...But I wouldn't use that to generalize an entire population of 1.2B people. I mean you couldn't have possibly had a sample size large enough to make such a broad statement...
Nevertheless, I will admit that there exist some shady practices stemming from Indian candidates...which would be a minor percentage..if at all..

There are almost 1.3 billion Indians worldwide. You are bound to find many talented people in such a huge group of people.
The US is not interested in welcoming illiterate Indians or low-skilled Indian workers as they have enough of Latinos next door for such jobs. Hence why mostly qualified Indians settle in the US.

In the GCC for instance the situation is different as many of the Indians there are low-skilled workers compared to the Indian diaspora in the US.
If I were an Indian I would not take pride in this at all as such talented people should stay within the borders of India. The Arab world faces a similar challenge. Many of the brightest heads leave their homelands just to establish themselves abroad while their talents should have been used in their native lands.
Indian users should not attack me for stating the obvious in this thread nor have I anything against Indians rather the opposite. It is what it is though.
I hardly think there's a dearth of talent or brain in India even with this supposed "brain drain"..
If you notice, India is doing just fine from an economic persspective, especially wrt. private firms and entrepreneurship...
Besides, in a globalized world, these same Indians (living and working abroad) become representatives of India (think ambassadors)... generate people to people contact with important players and even help drive FDI to India..
I take pride in knowing that Indians are successful, educated, honest and hardworking while contributing equally to their host nation as they do to india (through remittances)....I am proud that we are treated as an asset by the host nations as opposed to becoming a burden...
