Social media have become tools for popular movements like the Occupy Wall Street protest and the Arab spring. But Israel may be the first country to launch a propaganda war using Facebook and Twitter.

And the lieutenant running this virtual smackdown is a 26-year-old snowboarder named Sacha Dratwa, a Belgian immigrant who leads a team of social media soldiers.

According to Tablet magazine, for the past two years Dratwa has been in charge of the Israeli Defense Forces' "YouTube and Facebook presence and turned it into the most globally visible arm of the Israeli military."

Facebook, the magazine reports, only became available to Israel around 2008-2009, and it was considered a kids' toy. (Remember those days?)

But that was then. Now, Dratwa tells Tablet, "We believe people understand the language of Facebook, the language of Twitter." His team tweeted, for example, about an Israeli girl injured by a Hamas rocket, after a photo of a baby killed by an Israeli missile was posted on Twitter. The IDF commissioned a Foursquare-style game for frequent visitors to its blog, and it posts YouTube videos of drone strikes and assassinations.

Something like, "You recall the story about Mohammed and the Last Mosque? Well, here on the Jews' most holy sight I've built a mosque and dome and called it the Last Mosque! having visited Mecca/Medina i have never payed any admission charge to any Mosque including the Masid al Haram and Masjid Nabawi....Would i have to pay a toll to peek into a synagogue?

Your concern for the the holiness for the Jews is interesting because whatever/where-ever international politics goes it is impossible that we discredit what we believe is the future of this world going to be like Jews have their own views, Christians and Muslims have there own but never on this forum have either parties come up and said well like it or not this is what it is....i am not sure that either you are ignorant about the Islamic belief or you are trying to deceive us in any case if you want to find justification to the creation or Israel or the eventual destruction of Al Aqsa you will find many Muslim sources.

can't see the video but in any case the actual case is some thing on the lines that one of the blessings given to the Jews is the knowledge of building and fighting form heavily fortified positions...i maybe wrong

Some people choose to derive their worldview from, only one radical angle which fits them, out of their inherent or chosen inability to look broadly. Selective, reading and beliefs can't be cured nor can the self hatred of an individual.
