Why a Third of China’s Pigs Are Dying - Chinas pork crisis

Even the thought of pork is disgusting for most Muslims :bad::bad::bad::bad::bad::bad::bad:

HOWEVER, Muslim world really needs to pray for China's pork industry. Here's why

China's pork industry fulfills meat demand for BILLIONS of Chinese, Americans, and Europeans. It is absolutely critical for that. In doing so, it allows Muslim World to consume Goat, Sheep, Lamb, Cows/Buffalos, and Chicken meat in abundant quantities at decent price. They supply chain works very well for all---whether ~2 billion Muslims of the world or similarly large Europeans+Americans+Chinese.

In absence of Chinese pork, guess what will Chinese and others turn to to make up for their lost appetite of pork? Yes, other types of meats (Lambs, Sheeps, Goats, Beef, Chicken etc)---and this will create huge uptick in the demand of these meats, hence putting pressures on the supply and increasing the prices.

Muslim World's global halal food/meat industry will come under market pressures.

As Muslims increase in numbers worldwide, and slowly get ever more richer, they'll be consuming higher amounts of (halal) meats mentioned above. China's gigantic pork supply is crucial for Muslims to be able to do that at more affordable prices.

I bet ya'll didn't know about this connection, eh? :D One food consulting firm actually published a paper on this topic and hence I know :enjoy:

Rice and pork are most important food in China, China will always depend on itself and planning to let pigs live in high buildings to multiple the production while saving the land.

Guangdong must have some ravenous people...and by the way I’ve seen some tasty chairs in IKEA.

In Beijing most people just eat regular food, nothing special, the first batch of Chinese immigrants to foreign countries were mostly from Guangdong (Canton) , they gave foreigners an impression that Chinese people eat strange food, but actually most part of China, especially north China, we don't eat strange food, our diet is like any European or north American nations except that we eat more vegetables and less meat.
In south China people eat a lot of rice , In north China we eat more noodles, much less rice.

"Different dietary habits and food consumption have their own geographical distribution, especially in China . Food geographers are largely taken up with retail geography as a sub-specialism within economic geography . The Chinese people have developed traditional foods through their long history and also fostered a rich and diverse food culture. Due to the geographical environment and dietary habits that have formed throughout its long history, there are some dietary and cultural differences between Northern and Southern China. For example, thousands of years ago, rice became a main staple food in the Southern region, while wheat was a main staple food in the North."

I am vegetarian.

The most exotic thing I have ever eaten is a monitor lizard with todi (Indian alcohol made from some fluid from a Coconut tree). Restaurant was within a coconut estate off the coastal road north of Kuala Selangor.

In US I have also eaten a rattle snake.

Sign from Allah swt, stop eating this disgusting animal.

Utter garbage meat, full of fat and likely to cause parasitic diseases.
