Which country do you believe enjoys the best geopolitical position?

US-Its isolation from rest of the world is its greatest strength and biggest weakness.
India- Straddling the oil lanes and unchallenged power in an entire ocean once it gets its act together.
Protected by Himalayas in North, Jungles in East and Pakistan in West it can easily project its energies outwards towards the seas. Very difficult to naval blockade India because it has two enormous seaboards.

The bulk of the trade is going to happen through Indian Ocean in future. Now all littoral states from pakistan to SL to Iran and Oman and South East asian countries can benefit. But the real country which is capable to moderate this is INDIA. This might sound arrogant but thats the truth. Unfortunately with imported weapons thats not gonna happen !

And one more thing .. a full out war will never happen between china and India ..
1. Both are hugeee countries and
2. Himalayas will make sure half the infantry who want to cross over the boundary will die on route.


And finally .. ME is a *************** up place (plz dont mind the figure of speech) Pakistan will shield us from the crap emanating from there.

So you suggest, if we depopulate Switzerland from it's native people and fill it with middle eastern's then we will see the same Switzerland in the next 1000 years, and vise versa, no I guess you are messing culture and education factors with geopolitics.
What I meant here is which position do you think serves the best, if we dispeople it and refill it with Switzerland people?

Ok lets assume thre are no conflicts and everywhere its peaceful, then i would say Turkey, why?
Because Turkey is neighboring Europe on West, Russia on north, ME and Africa on south and Central Asia on east, its the crossread of civilisations and holding the strategic straits of Bosphorus and Dardanelles.

Its position becomes more clear if we look at the map, 8% of globally traded good are passing Turkish territory every day.

Look truthfully, i do acknowledge the good position you guys have.. But just land boundaries do not count. What matters is trade . And you need NAVAL power which is inexistent for you guys !

I disagree with India, in traditional sense Indian Geography is cramped; this means that its natural land routes with other regions and hence energy corridors with other resource rich regions etc are in other countries(Pakistan, china) while its terrain is overpopulated(means energy hungry if high GDP per capita is required). But this can be changed by sea energy routes in future etc.

Pakistan don't border east Asia & India being the biggest country & economy will dominate Indian ocean no matter what, Pakistan will just be a puppet of US & china like always to contain india

Turkey because you have acces to the mediteranean, slavic countries, middle east, and it is where gas will pass through to europe. Anatolia is surrounded by alot water and the terrain is mountainous meaning it is easy to defend.

Egypt isnt on the list but they have the suez canal .
