Which countries publish the most books? (infographic)

The list is based on data from UNESCO. The organization managed to collect figures from 123 countries. The latest available numbers total to approximately 2.2 million books published per year.
First of all, it’s extremely difficult to collect comparable figures from different countries. The years the data was collected spread between 2015 and 1991. Plus, there is always a question whether to count revised editions as new publications or not.

How many books you publish mean nothing... since you get in those numbers book who are translated or re-edited.
And the most important data is not the number of book published but who read the most...and the top Countries are (in order, top 1 to top 6) India, Thailand, China, Philippines, Egypt, and the Czech Republic
Another pcs of Data is that Pakistan wasn't incorporated in the data, but a correletion with India can be made, bc of similarities & Number ratio , therefore Pakistancould have been in the Top 10 Readers.

This data hides more than it reveals:

1) The selection criteria for each country is not uniform. E.g., data for China, US, Russia and UK includes re-editions, whereas for Germany and India only new books are included.

2) There is no information on translations. So we don't know how many of these books are original works. The figures for certain countries like China, India and South American nations (they are all Spanish-speaking except Brazil) could be massively skewed as a result.

3) The type of books makes a huge difference. I suspect that in some of these countries at least, a significant portion of publication is devoted to religious commentaries. No marks for guessing which countries these would be.

4) This might sound contentious. I am not against the arts. But I fail to see how a collection of poetry is as significant as a book on String Theory or Artificial Intelligence.

Technical books..most of it comes from India as far as South Asia is concerned. I'm amazed that many Bangladeshis and Pakistanis got a worst programming startup learning C programming in Turbo C using Yashawant Kanitkar's Let Us C

if you follow some criteria... a wild guess will be for those 3 languages Hindu/Chinese and Arabic, and if you seek a specific country, then India or China , since for arabic, you have dozens of countries with this language... s& ince most of books worldwide that are meant for translation, are by origin in English. so with basic correlation... you have this (mostly) answer...

The US and China's stats are from 2013 and for KSA and Morocco, for example, are from the 1990s.
