When will India host the Olympics

Olympic has always been a medium to forecast or reflect the growing power and ambitions that a country possess . In 08 Beijing did it........the impact that it had over the global audience was huge and it certainly changed the perception of China in many peoples mind across the globe .
My question is when will India host the prestigious olympics . People generally say that India is atleast a decade behind China so will it be 2020 ? or 2020 - 2030 or maybe after 2030 .
But after the drama of CWG, are we ready to do this? If not, when will we be
ready? Do the potential benefits of
such a project justify the
exorbitant costs?

India can pull it off, from an organizational standpoint. But there needs to be an increase in competitiveness in sports other than cricket.

And India needs more effective training and scouting programs to help find potential athletes and help them live up to their full abilities.

After 2030. Not before this. Or make it 2040. It is not random pickup.
The benefit to hosting such game is that it helps to develop a particular area, infrastructure and boost tourism. In commonwealth games, they got huge money. But they wasted all money in corruption. For me Delhi is still same. No change.

India may get before 2030, but it ll not be useful for us. It ll fill the politicians pocket only.

2030 should be ideal imo. We need to get rid of corruption, before we go about hosting Olympics. We don't want a repeat of Commonwealth debacle.

Even if politicians are (ready), its not possible because it depends upon IOC's evaluation commission to decide who will have it.

My friend Olympics does not recognize soccer. In other words, there is no such sport in the Olympics history.

Apart from your inability to host the commonwealth games with countries boycotting you are you mad? Olympics are the biggest money losing enterprise going..... It's purely a prestige propaganda project ... China used it as its superpower coming out ball...
Lost money hand over fist but that was not the point..... The last Olympics to break even was Montreal in the 70's I read....

White elephant project that does not a lot for the country or the city in the long run ..... Look at Barcelona, Athens , Beijing and london and no doubt brazil ...... Forget olympics it's not worth the bother

host the olympics?.....lol...at present the Indian olympic association has been de-recogonised by the international organisation because of kalmadi and co ....so that means that we dont know if we are even participating in the next.......
