What is China's rise going to look like on the 'ground' (aka water) in the Pacific and SE Asia?

I am wondering what China's moves in relation to territory will be in the next 20 years. I presume China is wanting to consolidate disputed territories. I wouldn't be surprised if the U.N eventually ask China to step in and sort out North Korea. But what is China's foreign expansionism going to look like, islands shared by both Korea/Japan, Taiwan, Northern Vietnam? Land taken from the West or North? Anyway it turns its going to meet a united and determined indigenous/ingrained populace.... Does it want to expand? China can afford to pump up a few proxy states against the Yanks to test their new weapons system.... I wonder who they are looking at first?
