Miscalculated move. Sometimes lab test result is different from real time testing in global. The virus has an alarming mutating abilities which I think only by infecting millions will see the effect and once it mutuated, the so called antidote they decide becomes useless or not so effective.

but nothing about the virus feels natural, the long incubation period, the high transmissibility, the ability of spreading while being asymptomatic, the devastating effect on HCS and economy. almost all governments underestimated the threat in the beginning

It didn't necessarily backfire. You have to remember that the ruling elite's interests do not necessarily match that of the American people. Actually in many cases the interests are diametrically opposed to one another. This is a parasitic class leeching off the United States.

Like how Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and USA went in there to "save" people? /s

Right now everyone is working towards a common goal to solve the issue at hand, it is the need of the hour, sure.

But as soon as that's dealt and over with, the global politics will resume, and a lot of the rallying that is being done by gradually building a certain political narrative, would eventually be used in resuming the cold war that was already happening before this pandemic. Once this is all over, all the bits and pieces will fall in place, resulting in some sort of action. Time will tell.

For now, of course you can write it off as speculation.
