West Bengal name change to "Bangla" and Bangladesh's national anthem dilemma

lol... our national anthem has sind(a province of pakistan) in it...
this is a good opportunity to change your national anthem though.. some bd people are not happy with tagore's version.
West bengal's national anthem should be "nare na ar to parina. .." according to their standard.

. .
You propitiate a Hindu god every time you say a day of the week in Bengali. If that does not rankle majority Bangladeshis....then why should use of name "Bangla" in the anthem matter?

Do a referendum if you really care about it that much.
You are not a Bangla speaker. So, you just do not know that Sunday is Robi-bar in Bangla. Robi is sun and not a God, Hindu or otherwise. Other days of the Week are named after the Planets that move around the Sun.

.
. .
Very strange logic. Which one came first? The Deities or the Planets?

The planets ARE symbols of those deities in Hinduism. Just like the idols in Hindu temples represent that which cannot be seen, the planets are similarly icons of these deities.

It exists in many languages....days of the week in european languages are from greek/roman and viking gods depending on the language.

In fact in the latin based ones....they are the exact same equivalents day by day as found in Hinduism (i.e tuesday = mardi in french which is mars (Roman god of war) = mangal in Sanskrit who is also a Hindu god of war....born from a drop of blood of Shiva (believed to be why he is red to the eye).

So yes when you say a day of the week in Bengali, you are saying a Hindu deities name. Just like happens in much of English, French etc...for other deities.

No problem at all. Rather it is one step forward for the merging of two BangIa. I mean by this name changing West Bengalis chose to use the term " from Bangla " like we Bangladeshis are. In short they preferred to adopt our identity over the existing ones.
The folk Bengali music in Bangladesh is richer than Bangal, The Bengali cuisine in Bangladesh is still dominated by Rice and Fish, Bengali occasions are observed louder in Bangladesh. We were behind in literature during colonial era which is at par right now. Bangladeshis are the true Bengalis or the Greater Bengalis right now and Indian Bangals are not in a position to determine whether we are Bangali or Bangladeshi.

Check the quote below, this shows who is a Bengali and who is not for the rest of the world.

You are a Bangladeshi.

Here is an example of a Polish girl who fell in love of Bangladesh's national anthem. She fell in too much love with it and devoted herself to study Bengali language and culture more. Which later turned her into Hindu (Previously Catholic) and diverted her to learn Indian culture.

I feel like Bangladesh is losing or confused with its identity.

They were always confused about their identity for the last 100 years or so.

From the comments (hehe):

I'm also born muslim, now atheist and learning about Hinduism. There is no one to guide me, but i'm striving hard to learn Hinduism because of its beauty and peaceful nature.

We are Bangladeshi and you are Bangla Pradeshi ( West Bengal is now called Bangla). We are Bengali, you are Indian. Our national anthem is Amar Shonar Bangla (My Golden Bangla), yours is Jana Gana Mana. When a foreigner refers a person 'Bengali' he means a person from Bangladesh. You are confused people who are mistaken as Bangladeshi if you speak Bangla. Everytime you need to correct others that you speak Bangla but you are not Bangladeshi. We are sometimes mistaken as Indian, well, we are from Indian subcontinent but you are always mistaken as Bangladeshi when you open your mouth and speak in your mother tongue. Try that in third country. Best of luck. :enjoy:

No he doesn't. Especially when Bangladeshis call their restaurant as "Indian" everywhere they go.

No one in a 3rd country generally gives a damn about Bengali or any subcontinent language to begin with moron. Its basically another brown-guy language.

Fewer still know of this "Bangladesh" other than its being whats written on the cheapest of clothing and that its a basket case sweatshop at best.

Now before you open your mouth anymore, try think why the rest of the Bangladeshis say you are an Indian and false flagger.

Stop this one leg here, one leg there attitude please....trying to curry favour with both sides at different points. Have some guts and full identity yoursself before you preach it to others. Otherwise you come off as a hypocrite.

The names of days idea came to India from the Greeks....Other civilizations had different names..Persians and the Chinese still use their own names....however the world adopted the names from the Romans...that's why it coincides with the Indian naming...if the Indians did not adopt it from the greeks early on we would probably have completely different names now...the Arabs have the best names...Day 1...Day 2...

Its called 'Indian and Bangladeshi restaurants'. Many westerners are not familiar with Bangladeshi cuisine. Not even Pakistani cuisine. For them every curry recipe is Indian recipe. I already told that we are from Indian subcontinent, so terming restaurants as Indian restaurants even though its run by Bangladeshis for business purpose is not wrong. Even in those restaurants Bangladeshi cuisines are also served. Most people love spicy Bangladeshi cuisine more than sweet Bangla cuisine Roshogollas.

I am being logical here. Not one leg here and one leg there. We are Bangladeshis and they are Banglas. This is one step towards becoming full Bangla 'deshi' one day from their side. :coffee:

We changed your political situation once, we will do it again if you dont learn to mind your own business. The first step of this is stop being so butthurt about how much more bigger and powerful India is and well known in the world....and stop caring what Indian citizens call themselves and what languages they speak.

Learn to accept the servant lady we have put to run your country....and learn your role and position in the world. Got it?

So what? It doesn't make us any less Muslim. Our city is called Dhaka (Named after Dhakeshwari Devi), Narayan Ganj , Brahman Baria , Lakhsmipur, Shyamganj. Thousands of such places are there in Bangladesh. We are culturally secular and a mixed race. Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism these three religions grew in Bangladesh since ancient period. First Hinduism, then Buddhism. These two religions dominated Bangladesh for a long time before Islam came to save people from caste system, racism of other two religions. People accepted Islam openly, some accepted by force but many willingly, not for the love of Islam but to escape from the racial attitude of other two religious ideologies.

Many of your fellow compatriots do not get their previous and continuing Hindu heritage. That was directed towards them. If you understand it, I got no issue with it.

And did the racial attitude go away? It didn't....because it was never part of the theological structure of Hinduism....rather the practical deficiencies of people that implemented what underlies the human psyche.
