Belarus is ready to merge with Russia, Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko said on the third and last day of his bilateral talks with President Vladimir Putin on Friday.

Rumors resurfaced this year that Russia could annex Belarus as Putin’s constitutional term limits bar him from running for the presidency in 2024.

“The two of us could unite tomorrow, no problem,” Lukashenko said in a video shared by a Komsomolskaya Pravda tabloid Kremlin reporter on Twitter Friday.

“But are you – Russians and Belarussians – ready for it?” Lukashenko said as quoted by Interfax. “We’re ready to unite and consolidate our efforts, states and peoples as far as we’re ready.”

Putin, meanwhile, stressed that “fully independent states simply do not exist in the world,” bringing the European Union as an example of interdependence.

The Russian president has voiced support for Russia to unite with Belarus as early as 2011.

Chinese leaders should learn a thing or three from Russia on dealing with Taiwan. When you're deemed strong and masculine they want to be part of your team. You flash a lot of money but is a geek people will just want to use you.

Belarus is smaller than Ukraine and weaker even Russian might has not turned Ukraine to their side same with Georgia

European Union and US won't let that happen that easily .

I really think China should have direct rule over HK and Macau I mean 2014 really showed you guys needed to control the HK
Macao is under control. HK is not. The supreme Court judge is a white British. Lol. The judicial system is British. HK lawyers required to wear those funny British wigs lol. Pathetic and sad. Fifth columns run rampant and as a kicker even CIA has an office in HK. LOL.

Reckless Autonomy is cucky asf but HK is ethnic Han despite Cantonese speakers still I think China should show some balls towards HK and direct rule it I mean this aint the 1980s when PRC was poor and HK was rich

Anyways back to point Russia-Belarus since like the 1990s have had a union and border free checks but in 2017 I think they sealed the border plus Belarus is part of the Eurasian Economic Union

The Taiwan question is a mixed development and ideological one.

Looking at development, first tier mainland cities are already par or slightly better than Taiwan in terms of raw economic output per capita. In 10 years probably rich provinces like Zhejiang and Jiangsu will be par or better than Taiwan on the same metric.

However, mainland society is rife with anti-social behavior, as a result of crony capitalism from 1990s to 2012-ish. Although not quite at the level as gangraping Dalits and stringing them up on trees, it is still really bad in many respects especially traffic. The upper class and upper middle class are mostly arrogant and money grubbing scum. Only the more disciplined among civil servants and party members (including central government level) hold everything together.

Taiwan's massive advantage in terms of social harmony is a "force multiplier" that propels its current development level to well beyond that of mainland first tier cities. Taiwanese have picked up some of the better parts of Japanese culture.

On this topic, this article is highly recommended.

In terms of the ideological issue, it's just a historical problem. Pro-US and pro-Japan views are the majority because there is little personal risk to being anti-China. The moment they are physically threatened, they will switch sides quickly. The solution here is simply to spill some blood.

In conclusion, mainland needs at least 10+ years to improve its society to the point where you don't have arrogant and money grubbing scum dominating the private sector positions of power. Once that finally happens then spill a bit of blood in Taiwan and everything falls into place.

Xi Jinping made it a priority starting from a few years ago. HK is undergoing a deep level retooling to integrate it into the surrounding parts of the mainland called the Greater Bay Area. See below.
