Weirdest news: Were the sexual slaves in JP army forced?Taiwan students strongly oppose

She is pro independence you know so she love Taiwan. We have thousand of thousands of Taiwanese in Japan that are pro independence. So you consider that too.
Who told you "pro independence " equals to "love Taiwan"? All I can see is she's licking Japan's boots at the cost of TW's reputation. She is actually "pro Japan" rather than others. Of course "pro Japan" equals to "pro independence "

I don't think so. You think Tsai is so simple minded ? Come on you should know Hakka are most ambitious and successful of East Asians. Even in Japan the Taiwanjin are proud of TAIWAN identity. They even anger when we call them "Chinese". That is how it is.

.
Well, there are independence lovers everywhere, including Ryukyu independence movement. A significant portion of them work and live in China (including Taiwan). They feel angry when we call them Japanese. They are proud of their non-Japanese RYUKYAN identity. That's just how it is.

To be honest, just 10 years ago, I thought Taiwanese were mature and thoughtful. They are living in a democratic and free society after all. But as much as I saw how they performed, I doubt. Their former president, Li Denghui, is a shameless clown, believing himself is a Japanese. Another former president, Chen Shuibian, is in jail for corruption. And as for normal Taiwanese, most of them are utterly brainwashed populists.

It seems most don't know the real story. Most of those "student protestors" are from families conceived from rape by IJA/IJN soldiers and seamen, especially during the war period. Lee Teng Hui is an notable example - he is not actually pure Hakka, but half Japanese.

They don't want to admit they are 'rape-babies' or 'rape grandchildren', so they scream and shout that comfort women were 'consensual'. They are trying to hide their very dark, painful family history. In contrast, Korean comfort women don't have this problem because they aborted their half-Japanese progeny. Koreans are very finicky about ethnic purity, lol.

They want to tell people that their grandma was not sexual slaves, but sexual volunteers.........lolo

They (the extreme minority political radicals) deny history at their own peril. At the age of 17 - 18, they are being badly used.

Their political romantic extremism will end up very badly for them when they embarked on real life. They better be hailing from rich families, because, at the end of the day, only the kids from rich families can bear the costs of their act of national disgrace.

In the face of historical nihilism, truth must be stressed even more strongly, using every available means possible.

China’s anti-Japanese aggression plays irreplaceable role in WWII

The Chinese people are preparing to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the WWII on September 3.

The Asian countries have been experiencing a relative peaceful 70 years after the end of WWII, and they are all speeding up on the development. But the scarred history should not be forgotten anytime, for it will remind people all the time to treasure peace, while deter war.

China, one of four key anti-fascist nations, was the main battlefield in Asia during WWII. But the position China stood and the role China played in the war fighting against the fascism had been lowered due to the impact from the Cold War that broke out in second fifty years of last century.

China's contribution to the world victory over the fascists has not received the enough respect the country deserves. This is not fair for the Chinese people.

In the following days, CCTVNEWS will present a four-episode series to give a look at the glorious contribution that China had made in WWII to fight against Japanese aggression and to provide great support for the world powers against Fascism in overseas battlefields.

EPISODE ONE: China, the first nation fires to Fascism
The WWII was spurred and launched by the Fascism states. The fascists had gained the power in Italy, Japan, and Nazi Germany in the first 30 years of 20th century. After the fascists controlled the governments in the countries, their evil ambitions spurred them to plan widening their powers to the neighboring nations and eventually the whole world.

On Sept. 18, 1931, Japanese troops blew up a section of the railway under their control near Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, and then accused Chinese troops of sabotage as a pretext for attack. They bombarded barracks near Shenyang the same evening.

The incident was then called and remembered as the 9.18 Incident, or Mukden Incident. Meanwhile, the Chinese troops shoot and fired at the enemies first time in the fighting. The 9.18 Incident marked the start of Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, triggering the world to fight against the Fascism.

On July 7, 1937, a crucial access point to Beijing, Lugou Bridge, was attacked by Japanese troops. The attack, well-planned by Japanese troops, signaled the beginning of Japan's full-scale invasion of China, six years after China’s northeast invaded and occupied by Japan.

KMT-CPC COOPERATION CREATES NEW PAGE IN FIGHTING THE WAR

Under Japanese troops' scheme, they would attempt to subjugate China as soon as possible and end the war in a short time. But China broke its aggression plot and dragged the invaders into a protracted war.

Confronted with strong and evil enemies, Chinese people established a national united front of anti-Japanese aggression, which was based on the cooperation between China's Kuomintang (KMT) and Communist Party of China (CPC).

After then, KMT-led troops were defending against Japanese military at the frontal battlefield and CPC-led soldiers launched strikes at the enemies' rear areas. As the two most important Chinese anti-Fascism powers coordinated and cooperated, China had become the first war region in the world against the Fascists.

Though Japanese troops were equipped with advanced weapons, Chinese soldiers had been struggling to resist the offensive, experiencing a number of key battles and giving a huge strike on Japan.

According to Japan's data records, Chinese soldiers heroically faced up the fierce attack, besieged by Japanese troops, fighting in the financial hub of Shanghai in August 1937, which caused 40-thousand deaths of Chinese soldiers. In the battle in Tai'erzhuang, east China's Shandong Province in March 1938, China saw its first major victory over Japan since the war broke out, with over 11 thousand enemies killed.

In September 1937, Japanese troops mustered forces for an attack at Pingxingguan in Shangxi Province, a narrow pass guarded by Chinese troops. Familiar with the local mountains, CPC-led troops cut off the enemy's logistic line and killed more than 1,000 Japanese troops in an ambush.

The battle of Pingxingguan was the first victory that China triumphed since the full-large war started two months ago.

In November, after Taiyuan city was occupied by Japan, CPC-led troops started to establish military bases in the enemy's rear areas, launching a number of guerilla warfare.

In one year, the CPC established six areas of basement behind the main powers of Japan. With flexible strategy and tactics, those CPC's soldiers got used to fighting Japanese troops unexpectedly. The rear battlefields had given huge strike on Japan, and gradually eroded its military powers.

The cooperation of KMT-CPC had created a new page for China's national resistance against Japanese aggression, resulted in the fail of Japanese troops' plotting to end the war in short time. After the battle of Wuhan in June 1938, the war entered into the stage of strategic stalemate. (The story compiled with information from Guangming Daily; Edited by Wang Mingyan)

Well~ what you brought is Mainland China experience of Japanese Imperialism. No one deny the hardship of Mainland China during that time. But what you experienced in Mainland China does not necessarily apply to Taiwan. Taiwan and Mainland China were two seperate entity back that. It is the fact that Japanese treated Taiwan differently from China during the Imperial period. In fact, Taiwan is part of Japan proper back then.

The problem with all this debacle is that the KMT and CCP want to hijack the history and forced the Mainland Chinese experience as the only valid History and sideline the Taiwanese experience.

That just won't work. Notice that most Southeast asian also don't have as much negative views towards the Japanese than the Chinese and Korean. Why? Simply because they're not treated as harshly as the Mainland Chinese were back then.

This is not historical nihilism. This is the realisation that every region and every individual has different historical experience. You need to respect that instead of forcing you own history as the only truth. Mainland China does not have any right to speak on behalf of Taiwan history.

Look, in historical dialectic, even you might serve a purpose.

We share a common history. Nobody is denying the other party's contribution. Save your Indian analysis for yourself.

We know more than you can imagine how much contribution all patriotic peoples of China have done during the war. Regardless of our varying visions of a Greater China.

We do not force our history upon India. You are safe. We shove the One-China policy down to your throat.

So professional in how you talk, @TaiShang , see this is what I truly admire how people can share thoughts without having to hurl insults or personal attacks. Japanese and Chinese, truly, can learn to work things out and discourse. Sharing opinions, even tho we may not agree with some politics, but so long as we are able to do so in a respectable manner, let's do it.

Sino-Japanese Entente can only happen when we both learn to appreciate each others' background and points of view. In the end, we have to find the middle path. :)

Philippines will only forgive the Japanese if the Japanese agrees to apologize while bowing 24/7.

The path may not be easy, but we have time on our side, i suppose. Being ancient civilizations (Japan being over 3,000 years old and China being over 5,000 years old) enables our societies, our peoples to learn from past philosophies and apply a transformational analysis on national and transnational possibilities. In the end, due to our geographical proximity and cultural and racial similarities, we both have to learn to work and live with each other. Peaceful cooperation is , in the end, to the best interest of both Japan and China , and Taiwan. Afterall, political machinations only apply for the times, and the times do change and pass bringing with it new possibilities and new opportunities to change policies.

Let's think beyond the box here and have our eyes beyond the horizon.

For far too long have our politicians been myopic in view.

For one, I am for mutual respect for each other's internal dynamics and affairs. Sovereignty is the utmost value in national politics. In that regard, both sides need to refrain from destructive interference to one another's internal affairs.

We respect your territorial integrity and you respect ours. If there is any sort of interference to create disharmony and disunity among the Greater China sphere, one can bet there will certainly be a response in kind.

The shared 3000 years of history should have at least taught us that much.

For another, when it comes to inter-state relations, competition is very fine, including alliance making.

Calm , brother, calm. @TaiShang is one of the intellectual Chinese members here, as i told you before. There are other Chinese members here i'd recommend you interact with as they are high quality posters they include:

  1. @Chinese-Dragon --- he's from Hong Kong, and a great contributor
  2. @Shotgunner51 --- by far one of the most cool headed / level headed professionals here; he's a Shanghai-er
  3. @Yizhi --- great kid, student, intellectual. Cool headed and he is broad minded ; he's Guangdongren
  4. @rugering --- a true Chinese nationalist, but broad minded, really knows his international political theoretics --- good guy
  5. @Pangu --- he's x-PLA , professional, really knows a lot of history, solid all around in his regional understanding.
  6. @AndrewJin --- a true Chinese nationalist; he's the reader type, very reticent, calm headed; he's the one that posts a lot about Chinese infrastructure here. He doesn't resort to personal attacks; good guy.
  7. @cnleio --- THIS GUY is one of the best. Check out the China Defense Forum and see what he has contributed ! Damnned intelligent guy and he's the GO-TO-GUY when it concerns Chinese defense questions.

@TaiShang ---- That is why , from our over 1 year of discourse here --- tho we have clashed heads plenty of time (lol) , you and I get along because i guess we come from academic backgrounds; and remember what they taught us on graduate seminars --- "if a theory doesn't fit your view, find another learning theory" LOL! If grounded theory doesnt work, just go on to the learning theory, ROFLMAO!

Anways, bro, let's keep it up. See you around the forums. You make me want to visit PDF to read your news updates. You do your share of sharing the Chinese Agenda and the Chinese National Growth Model. I think we all benefit in that knowledge updates.

Keep it up.

First of all~ I'm not Indian~

Secondly, having "Greater China Scheme" do not mean that Mainland China (or CCP) History trumps and negates all other region history. Due credit must be given proportionally.

The fact will never change, Taiwan historical experience with Japanese Imperialism is less negative than Mainland China historical experience. Mainland Chinese, KMT, and CCP does not have the right to label Taiwanese with favorable view of Japanese as "traitor" or "Hanjian".
