Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, 65, who previously made quite a few headlines during India-Pakistan ICC Champions Trophy final, wishes to visit Pakistan before he dies. Are you surprised? We surely are!

“I am 65 years old and I want to see Pakistan before I die. I want my children to see their roots. Bas karva dijiye (Please make it happen),” Rishi tweeted on Sunday.

Rishi has a house in Peshawar, Pakistan. It was constructed between 1918 and 1922 by Dewan Basheswarnath Kapoor, the father of Prithviraj Kapoor, the first member of the family to enter the film industry. The Kapoors shifted to India after the 1947 partition.

On Saturday, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah said the part of Kashmir held by Islamabad will remain with Pakistan and this was not going to change. He said Jammu and Kashmir needed more autonomy and chided those seeking ‘azadi.’

Rishi Kapoor wishes Pakistanis a ‘Happy Youm-e-Azadi’

Rishi wrote: “Abdullahji, Salaam! Totally agree with you, Sir. Jammu and Kashmir is ours and Azad Kashmir is theirs. This is the only way we can solve our problem. Accept it.”

Previously, the Kapoor & Sons star was shut down by Pakistanis after he mocked Pakistani cricket team about the India-Pakistan final on June 18th, even before the Indian cricket team had qualified for it.

However, this won’t be the first time the Bobby star visits Pakistan. Back in 1990, Rishi came to Pakistan to shoot for his movie, Henna, which also starred Zeba Bakhtiar.

The film was an Indo-Pak project and the dialogues were written by legendary Pakistani writer Haseena Moin, on Raj Kapoor’s special request.

Henna was said to have been shot only in Kashmir previously. As the actor made an interesting revelation now, it’s surprising to know that parts of the film have been shot in Islamabad.

We hope Rishi’s wish come true

. .
We still remember what you said about Pakistan. But things will never change if we will not let our grievances go.
So Kapoor Sahib, you are welcome to visit Pakistan any time at your ease and time.

. . . . . . . .
He should be allowed to visit his ancestral home. I know what he said about Pakistan before but hopefully after his visit his views about Pakistan might change.

.
I don't think he was ever denied, he have to apply for visa if the wish is not limited to tweet.
