CHANDIGARH: Reaction of Pakistani Twitterati to Wagah blast went from call to introspect to insane as the initial shock and disbelief subsided on Monday. As they vented their anger against Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for not taking terror threats seriously, the networking site users also blamed him for cozying up to his Indian counterpart PM Narendra Modi.

Several tweets with hashtags like #NawazModiJawabDo, #WagahKaJawabDoNawaz and #SavePakistanHangTerrorists pointed out how Nawaz had sent mangoes and a sari for Modi's mother.

At the same time, there were sane voices on the social media, which made objective assessment of the event to identify the homegrown problem of terrorism. A human rights campaigner Ali Dayan Hasan tweeted, "How blind, how dishonest, how delusional do you have to be to blame India for the atrocity at Wagah? It is the monster within."

There were others who raised some pertinent questions. For instance, Faraan Khan sought to know why the Pakistan government had failed to stop the attack when the intelligence agencies had already informed it the threat.

The need to deal with terrorists with an iron hand was also highlighted by many. "It was to please the European Union that Nawaz and Zardari stopped death penalty," tweeted ZIA GoNawazGo.

If a hand grenade blows up in India, everybody goes crazy blaming Pakistan and in your view those are the sane voices. Whereas in this case,if Pakistanis blame Indians the sane ones in your view are those who think its because of homegrown terrorism. Do you people even realize how stupid it sounds. You are not a country of saints the sooner you realize it the better.

He never replies back. He is just a messenger.

that was a deadly attack. Pakistanis and Indians both should understand the seriousness of this threat in the region. This is not a time for blame game. Spending Billions on security but not doing enough to make a secure place, is shameful for south Asians.
