Vulgar Mujra culture

Is there any way to stop this? Why this mujra thing is more common in cenral Punjab and sairaki belt aka southern Punjab. I got chance to attend some marriages and they hired vulgar dancers to entertain the male crowd which had kids in them and these idiots were dancing madly and were throwing money at half naked dancers which ruined all good experince. Our Punjabi stage dramas already have this shit vulgar dances and dialogue where actors often make dirty jokes about sisters and mothers of each others and now we have taken this shit into weddings. It gives bad name to beautiful culture of Punjab and Sairaki where great sufi poets came from. It may be entertainment for some people but you have dozen others ways to entertain yourself than acting as tamash been and wasting money on such useless stuffs

In many hollywood movies, I've seen something called Bachelor's party in which groom's friend bring stripper and party. I always found that as an equivalent to our Mujras in wedding(minus the kids part).

Then there are strip clubs where guys throw money at strippers etc.

How do westerners oppose it? I don't know.

Now about us, how to get rid of them? Answer is pretty simple: Islam. And that's coming from an Agnostic.

I think this is common in certain areas of Punjab. Does it have anything to do with harem culture imported from Mughals etc or cultural influence from bollywood?

Our area near Khushab/Mianwali is a huge no go zone for this type of crap in weddings. Unless you want to get shot that is. Here, women dress like they're in FATA or tribal areas and weddings are segregated. No dancers, just a few drums, flutes etc.

My concern is what we should do and these vulgar dances in wedding and these vular taunting of each others in Punjabi stage drams dont fit well to our Pakistani islamic values. People complain about lack of money but if you attend such events then you will be surprise to see how much money they waster on such stuffs. Even some mature uncles with beard involve in such activity of tamash beeni..youtube is full of such stupid weddinhs videos where even kids are being exposed to this vulgarity ..people throw notes at dances as if they are some sort of nawaab having mujra in their darbaars

This guy really blaming it for culture. This is exploitation of women.
Women who have no money or means to earn or jobs. Where women have been abandoned by men and abandoned by their state. Improve the status of women and see these Mujra dancers disappear or become so costly that only a very few will be able to afford them.

Its not common in our photohar region as well but if you look most videos in youtube then they are mostly from saraiki belt and central Punjab which also bring most of these vulgar stage actor and actress

Maximum they called singer but no ladies dancer ...attended one wedding and they had separate section for ladies and men

On individual level, we should denounce them based on our cultural and Islamic values.
On state level, Govt. should ban them(Mujras). Pemra should take notice of vulgar language in stage shows etc.

Recently in urban areas in India it's like who can hire the most number of foreign waitresses or a foreign band/singer at the wedding.

There are many parts of our culture that are repulsive. We have to accept that and flush these evils out.

When you forcefully shove religion in everything then it have consequences. Earlier it was family who used to sing traditional songs and dance to celebrate the occasion, as it was all the family, relatives and friends/neighbors who were considered part of family so everything was in respectable limits. Then came the mullah brigade with fatwas of haram and segregation, Mujra and drinking has become part of male gathering in many parts, maybe you haven't attended enough marriages otherwise you would knew that it's not limited central or South.

Actually its more common among other the rural folk.. specially agricultural related castes like Jatts,Rajputs etc of Central Panjab and parts of southern panjab.. but its not that they are common as fk.. ive seen ppl from the same background consider is pathetic and vulgar... and ive been to a free weddings myself... didnt enjoy it though... rather a mehfil of drunk middle aged dude drinkin booze anf throwing money... that sort of a thing..

P.S; The dancers arent cheap.. by the end of the dance they easily score lakhs of rs in that money throwing contest alone.... the booze and firing is another given.

I've been to mostly Indian Punjabi weddings and I'm disgusted by how much money they waste in that shit. Just spend it on honeymoon or something for your future or life insurance instead of fucking Mujra and orchestra
I've been to traditional muslim weddings and I don't like the fact that there's separate seating and eating area for men and women. That's just absurd to me.
