Vietnam premier wants to finish privatizing 289 state-run firms by 2015

And never mind with those Chinese private giants such as Ali/Tencent/Baidu.

Without a strong China with a strong state-owned economy, the US corporate power would probably kill those companies off before they could even become thriving.

The success of the Chinese private companies are based on the success of China's state-owned economy.

Private companies, especially large ones, are backed up by SOEs and supported by central government. If they leave this market, they are nothing.

I dont think its relevant, the state owned companies will only drag our economy````time has changed, the state owned enterprises are becoming obstacle to our aim to build a competitive and innovative economy

The SOE and POE should play a distinct role.

And we should take the middle path, not going to the extreme of either side.

those big private companies are becoming very innovative and competitive in world stage, it is because they have to deal with government monopoly and stupid polices````they have to word twice as hard and smart compared to foreign peers in order to become big in China

CSR and Haier are SOE. Private companies call also drag our economy. Both of them can drag Chinese economy to some extent.

Not really, China's auto industry has nearly gone full private, but still pale in comparison to the SOE sponsored HSR.

it really depends on the manner and determination the government to reform SOEs, but it failed miserably last time

Many SOEs are also very efficient and powerful.

In contrast, many POEs are also disappointing despite having a lot of support from the government.

Private companies can be also monopolistic. It's better not to go extreme.

POE should leave strategic sectors. I don't like China becomes another Russia. It's about nation security, which has nothing to do with innovation.

Although the monopolistic SOE might not be a very good idea, but it is still much better than the monopolistic POE.

At least the former one still has the main duty to serve its country, while the later one has no obligation or commitment at all.

China's auto industry is a shamble, none of the SOE auto companies have made anything that competitive in market, and has zero influence in terms of setting industrial standards or any sort``

and we just allowed private sectors into this market less than 20 years, and their growth are remarkable, they are purely market and innovation driven`````but if you have ever worked as higher managerial level in SOE, you would know its better doing nothing than doing something in SOE

Private companies can be also monopolistic. It's better not to go extreme.
they build their way to monopoly, unlike SOE which can achieve so by a piece of paper with stamps

I think it's better not to generalize SOE or POE.

The POE auto companies suck bad equally.

We already leave a lot of room for the company like Ali/Tencent/Baidu/Xiaomi/Huawei/Lenovo, but it doesn't mean that we have to give up our SOE.

As I said, both SOE and POE should play a distinct important role for China's economy.

Just go back to read Xi Jinping's governing philosophy carefully.
