Vietnam premier wants to finish privatizing 289 state-run firms by 2015

.
Mark my words, after Vietnam completely opens up and adopts market economics, their GDP will hit over $500 Billion within a decade's time.

Vietnamese are cousins of East Asians and they inherit the East Asian high work ethic and uniformity and drive. This is a character that makes Viets very uniquely East Asian , Confucian, to be exact.

Both Vietnam and China have wasted enough time on experimenting an imported utopian ideology, it's time to resume the right way of doing things like the other East Asian did!

Oh the Kim family is left out, too bad, if they insist then even IQ 200 can't help.

Imported utopian ideology, that's exactly right.

Just a bit, I've been going to china for 12 years, several times a year during all those years.

I'm going there in 2 or 3 weeks.

Haha definitely good to know specially when shopping around ;) ;) ;)

Enjoy your next trip there.

Well there are always different schools of thought, but I am a firm believer of market economy. Margaret Thatcher is considered a pioneer of privatization, worth reading:

She was called as a witch. And because of her privatization plan, the UK has been severely deindustrialized since then.

.
not all kind of privatization will bring good or the results will met the expectation

Gorbachev bring the demise of Soviet Union through a rush program of privatizations

True, we cannot apply the same kind of analogy of the privatization for all countries in the world.

The US is perhaps most suitable country for the privatization with their strong emphasis of the individualism in their culture. That's why the US capitalism was extremely innovative and powerful.

While for China, we were born with the "little peasant mentality". Without the strong collectivism, we would just be scattered as the sand.

In the reality, none of the East Asian capitalism can get away from the influence of the US capitalism and stop being its subordinate.

China's collectivism model is in fact always the most suitable for the Asian nations, while the US individualism is not even always suitable for the European nations, so let alone for the culturally vastly different Asian nations.
