Vietnamese commandos ever faced directly to US Green berets AND, you should know that US Navy Seal was created in 1962 to countermeasure Vietnamese commandos.
But they are not so successful. They attempt to access Northern Vietnam several times but failed while Vietnamese commandos could always surround US camps at will.

The scale is different too. Vietnamese commandos would be thousands, fight individually or in battlefield in cooperate with ordinary units.

As I read, to be an Olympic game, the Karatedo or similar martial arts must remove death punch or kick, lock ...
to protect the fighters.

Suzucho Karatedo founder is Suzuki Choji - an Imperial Soldier was survived by Vietnamese fishermen after his warships was sunk on the way to Malaysia in 1944 during WW2.
After WW2 end, he worked for Viet Minh and has the Vietnamese name Phan Van Phuc.
He married to a Vietnamese lady and has 3 child :
