Vietnam needs to have either Mk82 or Mk84 to use JDAM. I don't think Vietnam uses either of the bombs.

Plus, JDAM is a precision weapon, and if Vietnam thread is China, then it's safe to say Precision Weapon is not needed

Army? I'm trying to get a hold on people military experience. So far I know @gambit is air force, @SvenSvensonov is Navy, Gambit mentioned the US presence on PDF needed a Marine so I'm assuming you are the Army guy?

So the current crop of Chinese pilots are not as well disciplined because we are STILL flying recon flights off China's coast and with even better recon aircrafts ?

I don't know what r u trying to tell? First u are so gung Ho abt firing missile like cowboy without protocol at unarmed aircraft and now u question the fact our pilot are well discipline in handling those situation.

The russian bear constantly fly Tu-95 around Alaska and recon at their will and so as China Y-8GX ELINT do it on around Japan water . Does it it mean yr USAF and JMSDAF are both failure or ill discipline?

So you can fly off first And run like rats to China to seek shelter until your vietnam military construction worker repair the runaway after US agree to cease backliner of the Paris agreement and then u fly back.

Yet a squad of F18A leaded be E2 AWCS could be a small system.
a carrier strike group with AWCS, F18A fighter, aircraft carrier, Arleigh Burke, etc are bigger system.
And entire US military force is the whole system.

How far is North China from vietnam?

Detecting and try to hit accurately with missile are 2 different things. I know it's hard for you to accept China massive involvement in achieving unification for vietnam.

Maybe next time you will come to denied Ho chi minh trail and say the supply route is linked to Russia and China never supply a single thing for vietnam in vietnam war?

So each unit can perform its best function and get weakness covered..

I'm confused too. Doctrine, tactics, training, individual weapons systems? "Military system" is far too ambiguous. When we used "system" in the Forsvaret (Norwegian armed forces) it was always in reference to either a specific piece of gear, or a networked piece of gear (such as integrated or attachable sights, mounts and accessories on our rifles). It was never to describe our military as a whole, let alone our tactics, doctrine or mission statement.

@BoQ77 the OP mentions spare parts for captured or left behind US equipment? What US gear does Vietnam use and needs repairs?

And is there any chance Vietnam would be interested in an LCS type ship (Freedom class), perhaps an up-gunned version, as is being proposed to the USN as its newest frigate?

Navy Stealth. Why use expensive and hard to maintain RAM when blinding enemy sensors is so much easier?
