Vietnam buys elevated railway train from China

To be very frank, Vietnam, is so similar to China in many ways.

Most of the low value stuff moving out of China, is moving into Vietnam, because Vietnam is close to China, and very similar to China.

I remember LKY once said, "Vietnam is the brightest spot in ASEAN, because its people are hardworking and patriotic. They come to Singapore, and are immediately seen as hardworking, and return with their skills to their country."

yes and no. yes, we are similar to chinese, but not the same. or as some chinese posters claim we are lazy. while they are not. luckily they don´t claim we are Chinese. or in cases, we are successful. we are.
yes, many low value factories move to Vietnam, but no, not from china. or very few.

No need to say Singapore, look at your leaders first, you leaders also go to suck the US for dollars, and, you do more than Singapore, your leaders come to lip our shoes for yuan.
if it comes to business, chinese have no shame. nor scruple. I wonder that you now come with a moral story.

sure, we do. but all take time. and lasting peace.

at least one condition is met. unbelieveable but true. 95% of Vietnamese people support capitalism. and that is in a communistic country. the highest percentage in the world. that is not saying, capitalism blossoms in Vietnam. there are corruption, mismanagement, and so on. below the article.

Communist Vietnam loves capitalism

The State Capitalism is the way to go, since the Western Capitalism will absolutely bury your little country.

really? you wanna bash vietnam again? no and yes, some laziness is there, who not, but we are not as lazy as you assume. take example, if we are lazy, the germans won´t take young vietnamese at all to germany for professional education. this group of 18 from hanoi has just arrived.

I will alway do this, my friend, like you do. You are going off the topic again.

Vietnam's first McDonald's grand opening, fantastic! If you think eating some garbage = capitalism, you're hopeless.

Chinese-Vietnamese fight is like the fight between a distraught twins. Both keep fighting and bickering, yet fail to realize how similar they are, and how close they have always been.

As for Chinese posters, they are just replying in a similar fashion to your accusation of train delay. Don't take them by heart.

Also, you were okay with the 50-50 division option that I presented you with before right? (Though I think 65-35 would have been more realistic)

Nope, most Vietnamese can be told apart from the Chinese crowd, we are not similar at all.

I think Chinese members here should show some love and big-heart towards Vietnamese here. You both know you are essentially similar, in so many many ways. Since, China is the big brother, isn't it its responsibility to deal with it in a more warm and hospitable manner?

Stop the antagonism, even if the other one indulges in it. If one takes the initiative, the constant chain of back and forth insults will stop. Obviously you have problems, like any house hold. But that should be dealt with like that.

And frankly, China being the bigger one here, should take the initiative.

ok, why not return to topic. China Railway Sixth Group Co. Ltd. is the main contractor for this rail project. a chinese state-owned enterprise. she is responsible for delay and cost overruns, isn´t she?

as for fast food restaurants, McDonald´s and Co. , well, Vietnam government is committed to opening the domestic market for foreigners. it is part of the game. as for capitalism, I can tell you, most of our people support capitalism system. and it is not coming since yesterday.

capitalism also means having freedom of choice. one can buy pho for $1.5, or junk food for $3.5.

Show some love? This is mutual respect and understanding please. Big brother should be always forbearing? How do you explain the U.S. initiated wars to small countries.

well, the Vietnamese government tried to implement a mix of chinese/korean state model some times ago, by pumping up the state companies. with terrible results. now, except few sensible industries, the government wants to sell most of them away.

yeah that isn´t a state secret. yes, common chinese folks are taller, fatter and have lighter skin.

Because you didn't manage it properly.

When it comes to the national security, the state-owned corporation is far better than the private one.

Viet, stop playing this tune. Please! We don't want unnecessary conflict between brothers, right?

There is a lot that goes on in tenders and only the contractor can't be blamed for delays. Like in India, often it takes hell lot of time to get land acquired. And then even if land is acquired by the government, either local politicians will start doing shit, or someone will place a lawsuit.

So, until we know details, we can't be sure. But we have to accept that generally Chinese Infrastructure projects are run well.

Pro Chinese to Pro Vietnamese now?

I think you meant culturally right I do see some similarities. In terms of physical appearances they look different. Heres a huge group of Vietnamese. Do they look Chinese to you?

What do you expect from tender bids from Chinese contractors in Vietnam. Pros: Cheaper and Faster
Cons: Mismanagement, Quality issues, Hiring own workers, Breaking the law and Waste pollution.

They should have chosen only Japanese, Korean and European contractors for the subway metro lines :disagree:
