Recently surfaces video shows some Saudi army unites moving to Jordan and from there to Syria.
Some sources mentions that Saudi till now sent 5,000 fighters.
Others suggest Saudi has mobilized 150,000 forces with help of some other countries such as Jordan, Sudan, Bahrain and UAE.
It's too early to draw conclusion but surely something big is going to happen soon.

How do we know this is Saudi? Looks like your average basic jeeps. Maybe just for Jordanian border security. What will Saudi Arabia or anyone else for that matter do in southern Syria? If you mean the areas south east which ISIS in control? And if there is serious urgency to do so, don't you think that will be better?

I'm sure if there is a real move soon, Russia-US and rest talked it over and agreed to it. Look at Iraq, Sunni's portion is just not compatible with government there. There are divisions, maybe it's better to separate them and give them some sort of autonomy. Saudi temporary control in Syrian Sunni areas can help lower tensions in the area. It could be better in long term if all parties agree to guidelines to not prepare any future offensives or military development of any sort.

Nothing big will happen, nobody is looking for anything big to happen. Global diplomats are in contact all the time. Westerns and Russians have matured after WW2. They aren't like Middle Easterners who want the $hit to hit the fan and cause endless chaos.

This will eventually become an alliance aimed at containing terrorist organizations like isil , hamas , hezbollah and alqauda . The goal is not to remove assad but instead destroy isil and eventually will be extended to face other extremist organizations . The Russians already planned their new puppet to take over Assad place and eventually they will contain extremist muslims within Assad ranks as they have no tolerance for islamists .

Interesting development. But my question is this --- will their presence stem extremism or will it increase it? @Daneshmand @Serpentine @2800 @SOHEIL et al.

One might deign to assume any Saudi mobilization in Syria will result in a reciprocal determinism on Iran's Part.

What you're insinuating is that Saudis , iranains ,Russians and Americans are allied now against one common cause.

And we all know that's one big farce, my friend. :)

Please don't mix your personal views/fantasies with what's being said. I have not seen any statement from Saudi Arabia that they are fine with Assad victory in Syria(which you're suggesting). If that's the case and the focus is now on Sunni Islamist, then Sunni Islamist will win. But of course we know you guys are all talk. Without US invasions and air strikes Sunni Islamist will walk all over you. What you're insinuating is that Saudis , iranains ,Russians and Americans are allied now against one common cause.

And not sure what your obsession over Hamas is about. You can't even contain Houthis in Yemen let alone to get far away thoughts about Hamas. Hamas is here for eternity. It will last longer than UAE regime. It's the order of the universe son of bitch.

Houthis are on the decline in Yemen Just like isil in Iraq and Syria . Recently the battle for Sanaa started where yemen royalist forces took over firdit nihim and only 30 km from the capital . Again in yemen we are fighting against republican forces loyal to saleh and houthis whom both are better armed than isil and syrian rebels combined .

Both USA and Russia are looking forward for the partition of Syria where there will be zones of American and Russia influence at the expense of Iran and Turkey . The goal on the anticipated Saudi/Turkish intervension is to take over territories held by Isil .

The Shia militias used now in Syria , Just like isis are used for the purpose of partitioning the country , but once their role is done they will be sent back to where they came from . The Russians have their own plans for their sphere of influence in Syria .

The final plan will be parition of Syria into 3 zones. Kurdish , Sunni and Russian dominated Alawite regions .

The only true winner out of all this is Israel as now Syria is out of the equation .

Saudi led intervension will be to take over whats under Isil control to complete the partition of Syria as agreed upon between Russia and USA behind closed doors . Both superpowers have agreed on the scenario that will lead to a knew parititoned Syria but time will show the details .

The start of this plan was completed with creations of Syrian Kurdish region , the remaining will be 2 region , one for displaced sunni refugees and a zone comprising most of urban centers under Russian/Alawite control.

The ethnic cleansing of sunnis from Homs , Damascus and coast is the project aimed at dividing Syria .

Only two Arabic countries in the region have M-ATV MRAP and those are Saudi & UAE. Some say it's because of military drill, few countries do participate but we have to wait and see.

Another stupid move by Sauds if true, Iran have enough proxies in syria for hunting GCC ground troops, they can inflict pain upon them by not losing a single Iranian. better option is to push US for either with us or against us, if they are against you (they surly are otherwise Sauds would not act desperatly) then hug china and Russia tight, they may think of saving you if u agree on their terms :D

The guy who recorded the video is really happy...oh boy...should've heard what he said...the passion.

The troops are being moved north for an upcoming action. I don't think that they have entered Jordan yet. As you said, it looks like something big is being planned.

Now, keep watching who else joins the game.

I highly doubt, they will go in. Saudi military is incompetent and operating far from its own borders is not something they have been trained or equipped for. Besides, the international law is very clear on this. For example Russia operates in Syria because it has been invited the the government of Syria. Saudis do not have a UN mandate, neither they are invited by the government of Syria.

These rumors, are being created to show to Saudi supporters around the world, and the Saudi supported rebels in Syria that Saudi Arabia is still relevant to geopolitics of the region. The truth is, Saudi Arabia is quickly becoming a joke. Not only they have lost their geopolitical influence but are on their way to go bankrupt. The Yemeni war, Saudis started is soon to become one year old, and Saudis have utterly failed to achieve any strategic objective there.

With international community pushing for stabilization of Syria under Assad and the success of Syrian Military on the ground, combined with utter failure of Saudis in Yemen on top of Saudis bleeding economically, are all causing Saudi Arabia to become more and more desperate by the hour to show some "victory" to its supporters and save face. Alas, there is no victory in sight and Saudis are cornered from all sides. Even their daddy has started to think about ditching them: A Senator Is Questioning The U.S.-Saudi Relationship At Just The Right Moment

They are being told by their master, that they should start reforming themselves internally and forget about trying to be a geo-strategic player. And this also, from the mouth of President of United States of America.
